31 scripts, impressive. Good event, Mr. Blonde/Don.
Congratulations and good luck to all that entered! Not me this time. I'll skip the excuses on why I didn't finish one, but I'll certainly be reading and reviewing. |

31... A writing epidemic on SS.
I was going to tweak mine, I knew the changes I was going to make to the plot and characters... when suddenly my daughter had an episode. so I couldn't get to it. And now I don't even want to open and reread... I shouldn't have submitted but wanted to play.
Well, it's okay now. My daughter is good. And.. it's an OWC, not my first one. Enough with the excuses for me. Only proves that I had to come up with the topic earlier in the game. |

Thanks Don. I rather liked this approach the last time it was done. I think this challenge could lead to a wide variety of scripts. It will be interesting to read the different choices. |

This OWC theme is amazing, by the way. I didn't dwell too long between the aisles of urban legends, because only after reading a few an idea latched itself onto me that I had no choice but to write it down. However, as short as my journey was, I found urban legends to be a fascinating rich source for original stories.
The best part is that there is no copyright dog in their yard, and even if there is, it certainly has no teeth. Now, I don't want to come across as a thief or a man who preach plagiarism. I just think that a work that's merely inspired by another shouldn't be shackled to it. And I believe that the fear of those shackles has significantly impeded the screenwriters quest for originality.

Looking forward to tomorrow to see what everyone has come up with. As I'm free tomorrow after work I hope to get a lot of reads in. I aim to review every script this time around.
Good luck to all and well done! |

I won't be reviewing every entry as there are too many. I know some of you are very attentive readers and can do it but I can't. I just know I'll start skimming in a while if I decide to review all 31. So, like I said in the other thread, I'm planning to review 10-15, but I want to read them very carefully and write more in my review than I usually do. Let's see. |

I agree: great idea to post them all at once. That way, scripts get equal time/exposure. And readers can decide to go down the line one-by-one, or read scripts with loglines that call to them; whichever method is preferable for one's individual tastes. |

Holly molly, I forgot logline plays a crucial part in OWC. Moviepoet system spoiled me. |

As I said just an aim of mine to review them all. I normally fall short of my aims.
You know what they say: shoot for the stars and if you fall short you land on the clouds..
But as we all know, clouds are only a condensed watery vapour and not actually solid. So I'd fall through them and plummet back to earth, breaking every bone in my body on impact and eventually die...
So shoot for the stars and you could end up dead. |

Won't have time Sunday to review, but will begin applying my usual industrial strength atention to all entries beginning Monday. Will mass dump all when I'm finished, hopefully by the end of the week, might be early the following week. By nature, it's the general nature of your story's construct that I'll gravitate towards. Your weinie splellin' 'n glamaticle ithews I could care less about, but I will b!tch about deviating from generally accepted spec screenplay format issues. That said, what are some of the things you do and do not want out of a review? What's useful to your rewrites, what's not? Thank you for helping me provide a more useful review. Works good for both of us. |

Despite not being in this one, I'll most likely read them all. I won't be able to help myself. If you're something of a friend and if by some chance I don't like your story, then I'm apologising right now. I will really, really try not to be a dick. |
