Thanks Albert for the heads up on this.  I agree with Albert, "I have NO IDEA if its genuine or fan-fic, but thought it was interesting. "

This treatment found here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?5kgcwy4cu91n2r5, is entitled, "Episode VII - An Immortal Legacy" and has Michael Arndt's name on it.

I'm more inclined to believe this is a piece of fan-fic that someone has put Arndt's name to to see how far it goes.  The characters from the original trilogy have far too large a role in this treatment.  Also, it reads exactly how I and a million other Star Wars fans would want the story to play out.

Interesting.

A good barometer of checking if this is 'fan fic' would be whether all the characters named (apart from the obvious ones) are a part of the 'non-canon' Star Wars universe -- ie novels, games etc that aren't officially linked to the actual movies.

I've not been a teenager for many a year, which was the last time I delved into the SW universe outside of the movies.

Lucas always shy's away from that particular part of his empire. So maybe some cross referencing from incredibly informed SW universe fans could confirm if the minor characters in this treatment are alive in that world. If they are, I think we can guess this isn't official.

I'm sure more educated nerds can way in on this. I'm barely a part time nerd these days.

Hi all. I'm an upcoming filmmaker and I'm a huge Star Wars fan and am loving the fact that in a few short years, we will blessed with a new Star Wars installment. I googled this topic and came across this forum and thought I voice my opinion.

I have every reason to believe that this 'treatment' is in fact fanfiction. As much as I applaud fan fiction to giving fans something to put their minds at ease while waiting for the next film or project that comes out of LucasFilm and now Disney. I downloaded this treatment and had a quick flick through it. I found it quite interesting but I noticed that something was in fact, fishy. We have all read the so-called casting calls for the seven new starring characters but I have been googling 'Star Wars 7 news' every couple of days and there's always something new. First it was that the film would be original and then there was speculation that the film would revolve around Han and Leia's twins Jaina and Jacen and how Jacen would become Darth Caedus hence using Expended Universe content when the filmmakers have have set that little to no expended universe content would be used. I have reason to believe that while the filmmakers have said the whole originality thing will be well, original, I believe that it might not be completely original as this morning (it is morning in Australia) I found some more articles that are reporting that Jaina and Jacen might still be the main focus. As it is has been reported in terms of the books that have been published from the after the release of Return of the Jedi in 1983, that every character and story has to be approved by George Lucas himself or by LucasFilm before it can be published and i think that if Lucas wasn't going to consider the fact that it would be completely stupid not to have the characters from the Expended Universe in the next three films then that is just plain wrong. Plus, I as a fan and many other EU fans wouldn't be to impressed that all the books and comics were just considered 'non-canon'.

Carrie Fisher has said a couple of times in the last couple days that Leia, her character, is unhappily married to Han. I think she's joking and in the same article said that her daughter with Han, who is idenified as Jaina will be in a love triangle, wait for it, Jagged Fel and Zekk. There's the link: http://www.fashionnstyle.com/a.....ckson-wants-role.htm

In the same article, it gives us the same information about Samuel L. Jackson wanting to reprise his role as the suppose to be dead Mace Windu who we saw getin flung out a window by Palpatine. There is a chance that the treatment might be a fake to make fans believe that what they read is what they get or like it is speculated from this discussion board that it might just be a fanfic with Arndt's name on it to through people of the trail of what the film might actually be called and be about.

Arndt is a talented screenwriter who wrote Toy Story 3 and he wouldn't be stupid enough to put the treatment up online. He would have to keep it quiet until filming started. It is clearly a fanfic with his name on it.
