Hi,

Is is possible to add extra information to a characters extension?

Such as:

              MIKEY (O. S.  SKYPE)
        I love pancakes.

Or continue writing skype in the parenthetical?

Using the extension could save space.

Thanks,

Tony

Many things are possible, but not everything is sensible.

Your extension deals with the location of the voice; your parenthetical deals with the manner of the voice. Anything else belongs elsewhere.

I think if you put it as an action line:

A skype conversation between Mikey and Sarah...then just do your dialogue. It's confusing any other way. The main thing is for the reader to understand what is going on.

Dena is correct.  I'd do it as she suggests.  Make sure the read knows this is a Skype conversation then just include their dialogue as normal.
