I love to watch and write gory movies. Some of my favourite filmmakers produced movies with very realistic practical gore effects, like S. Craig Zahler, David Cronenberg, and Jeremy Saulnier. I was wondering what is everyone’s favourite scene or sequence they’ve written that features gore?
Mine happens early in my new script titled Try. A pregnant woman is forced to ingest a green chemical then she’s sealed inside a stone crypt. Her and her baby die, while the baby is still mobile and hungry enough to feast on his mother. The woman is cut open to reveal her internal organs are gone and resting inside her rib cage is her unusually large zombie baby.
Mine is in my short script called Glitch, which focuses on a graphically described appendectomy... a few people who read it thought i had medical training
I was surprised by some of the reactions to Glass House. There’s a vignette where someone is slowly shredded by flying shards of glass and another where four people stripped to their underwear have to get past fifty feet of broken glass glued to the floor, but the one that got an “Ew” from a Page horror coverage writer was a serial killer cutting a breast implant out of his victim (“You lied to me!”).
Not how I would have ranked the goriness, but whatever.
Lol yeah, those first two vignettes definitely sound a lot grosser. I really like your idea of death by flying glass, seeing someone get shredded apart that way would look awesome!
