What's Next:

-A Gay Love Interest for Jordan Jones?
-Casey's Atheist family having dinner with Kay strong Pentacostal Family?
-Renegage Iraqi Student who befriends Reicther?
-A religion craze that could has some bad results for Casey?
-Casey loses The Group has his friends?
-A suicidal who could be the love of Chris's life?
-Stacy graduating, but not without leaving her mark?
-Joel and Cathy double dating with another member of "The Group"?
-A film crew that comes and decides to make Brian's life more dramatic for documentary?
-One of the group members comitting suicide?
-The origin of Brock's anger and problems?

Also, Story Editor Melinda Waterman claims she wants to do an Musical Episode. She has begun to write it. I'm not sure if I'll use it.

Alan Holman is currently putting the finishing touches on his two episodes. Both are suppose to be whacky but great.

Edward is got about 3 more episodes up.

Max Majernik is working on one called "Shades of Grey"

And I am trying to tone down our Religion episode so it won't offend EVERYBODY. But it will probably still make some angry. There's lots of talk about Jews, Jesus' life, and the big point is that The Guys have an argument about who really killed Jesus.

I just wrote an episode.  I'll send it to Bruce later today, after I put some finishing touches on it.  It's called "Putting out Fires", and it combines three different episode ideas into one awesome script with the theme of fire.

Hey, I've been reading The Lunchroom since it first came out and I love this series, I think it really should be made into a real show, but anyways my favorite season would have to be season 1 & 2, season 3 i don't think it's as funny as season 1 and 2 but it's not a bad season my favorite episode for season 3 would have to be "god hates actors", "special needs" and "Master Debaters" my least so far would be "The Camping trip", on to the characters my favorites are Will and Reicther and Mr. Parker. I think Chris and Brock, and Sometmes Joel are underused especialy Chris and Brock, just wish they had a standout episode or two. anyways continue on with the good work on The Luncroom.

Oh yeah, how many more seasons  do you plan to do The lunchroom ?

I was going to send the first of my two episodes for Season 3 to Bruce today, but then I decided not to.  I'll send both at the same time; that way, I can re-edit the first one while I'm finishing the second one.  I think I'll rename the first one "We Didn't Start The Fire", instead of the title I prefer, which is "Putting out Fires."

I don't know what will be deleted in Bruce's editing of my episodes, and because it's his show, I don't mind liberal deletions and replacements and edits, et cetera, but as its rough draaft currently goes, this is what happens in the first of two episodes...

I'm deviating from the original summaries, so here's a bit about what happens...

-A rumor goes around town that Will's parents died.
-Casey and Joel want to hold elections for "leader" of their gang.
-Stacy gets injured.
-and much, much more!

Well, Bruce is working on "The Big Apple" and I geuss he feels the show has gone as far as it can go without getting old.

Maybe someone will revise the series at a latter date - uncancel it pehaps or
adapt a feature length version, possibly a script drafted by everyone involved with the series.

I do agree, this was a very good series.
The writers have a lot of talent so hopefully we'll see them help Bruce with his new series.

Are those special spin-off episodes you were going to do still on?  Like with Chris married in London, and Brock and Brian living together in Brian's old house?  Those sounded really good.

Personally, I would like to see another season of The Lunchroom, maybe an abbreviated season of 6 or 8 episodes just to give each writer a chance to do one more episode.

Not trying to take any thunder away from Simply Scripts here, but does anybody think The Lunchroom should have its own website?  Wouldn't it be a cool place to collect all the information about the show?

After much thinking, I've decided to renew The Lunchroom for another Season.

Crzypunk is right. We may be stopping the show to soon. I mean right now, during Season 3, The Gang are only Sophmores. So probably this will be the Timeline:

Season 1: Freshmen
Season 2: Freshmen
Season 3: Sophmores
Season 4: Juniors
Season 5: Seniors.

I've shortened Season 3 from 22 episodes to 15.
Season 4 will also probably be 15 Episodes.

While a lot of shows like "Friends"; "The Sopranos"; and "Everybody Loves Raymond" shortened their final seasons. I would like to have the Final Season have the regular 15 amount. So in the end, we'll probably have 68 overall episodes.

Also, I'm hoping to more things for Mr. Parker to do in both future Seasons and Episodes.

We have also made the decision to have Stacy leave the show near the end of Season 4. Many feel that she serves no purpose. I myself, have found it difficult to fit her in sometimes. But besides that, no real other regular characters will leave.

Also we want make the character have more stand out characteristics. This is what we're trying to do:

WILL: Leader. Sarcastic & sometimes cocky.
JOEL: Good looking. Most liked. Easily could be popular.
BRIAN: Big. Angry. Sometimes insensitive.
BROCK: Intense. Quiet. Much like Brian, but is less angry.
REICTHER: Weird. Whacky.
CASEY: The tallest and biggest one. Is mostly stupid and usually butt of The Group's jokes. (Like getting stuck in the wall in 2x01 "Against the Madness")
CHRIS: New guy. Black, British. Sarcastic like Will, but still is trying to understand America culture and the way things run around the school.

I liked the episode when Stacy got kissed by that girl.  So far, you've implied that she's interested in asian culture.  I've been studying asian cultures lately, so perhaps I could write an episode of THE LUNCHROOM where she visits the town of Rain, Japan, for some reason.  That's the town where my Banana Chan scripts take place.  I know that fictional town inside-and-out.  I wouldn't have her meet any of the characters from my series ... unless you don't mind ... but i would have her visit rarely-or-never visited parts of that town, so tha she can learn some little known things about the culture.  All i'd need is a plausible story idea that could cause her to go to Japan -- and a list of characters who'd be going with her, and why -- and I'd write that story.

A "Banana Chan" crossover...Sounds intriguing.

We do have two upcoming things with Stacy:

1) We're going to take up Ziggy W. on his idea and have an episode that mocks teen shows like "O.C." and the ultimate piece of crap "One Tree Hill."

2) Also, in the upcoming episode "Heart's Place" she shares in the most awkward thing a teen can...losing her virginity.

Yeah you should do an episode where the gang mocks teen dramas, anyways what are your plans with stacy after she graduates?

I'll write the cross-over then.  You won't have to know anything about my series to understand and enjoy the story of the crossover.  I'll spend an extra amount of time getting the details right, but here's what I need from you:  I need you to e-mail me a time-line of every current plan that you've got for Stacy, and all relevant information about Stacy -- such as scripts, or script exerpts, that haven't yet been posted within episodes.  I'll refer to that information when figuring out how to portray her in the crossover episode.  In other words, any "classified" information about Stacy is necessary.  I must know all, and then I'll write the cross-over.  When I finish writing the episode, we'll both have to send it back-and-forth to each-othera few times so that we're both completely happy with it.

Well, crzypunk, Stacy graduates at the end of this Season and we're only going to have her around for a few more episodes in Season 4.

Then in around episode 6 or 7 we're going to have her move away. After that she MIGHT pop up once or twice. But she will be in the Series Finale.

Next 2 Episodes...

"Home Is Where The War Is"
Teleplay by Bruce Snyder & Alan Holman
Story by Alan Holman

"By All Means"
Teleplay by Bruce Snyder & Edward Drogos

Basically here how it goes with Stacy and the Kiss:

By the time the whole thing comes up again this season, it will have been almost a year since it's happened. Basically she runs into Marilyn again. After having a nice conversation, Stacy becomes intrigued with her. She spends the last few episodes of Season 3 figuring out if she's gay or not.

Kirk will be making an appearance in both "Home Is Where the War Is" and "We Didn't Start the Fire."

Yeah, I really like "The Luchroom" the characters have really evolved since this premeired and I'm glad this isn't ending in the third season.
I'm just curious as to whose going to be in the next batch of characters.

BTW,
Hey Bruce, would you mind checking out "Quirky Romantic Comedy" on the
"My work in progress" board?
I'm looking for imput from other writers on it.

Thanks.

Since we're going to be doing 2 more Seasons of the series, I'm going to put "The Big Apple" on the back burner. The more I think about it, it wasn't anything that special anyway.

Hopefully all of Season 3 will be posted by the End of April. Then the Summer will be spent with the Writers planning Season 4.

So far this is our writing staff for Season 4.

Bruce Snyder (Head Writer)
Vincent Biga
Edward Drogos
Melinda Waterman (Story Editor)

But there is plenty of room for more writers.

I want to be on the writing staff for the next one, but can I make one suggestion:

We've gotta have a private message board somewhere where we all can meet and discuss our perceptions of the characters and our ideas for how the story should continue.  Such discussions should be in a private, staff only discussion board somewhere, where although all the writers are sharing their ideas, Bruce makes the ultimate decisions.

If such a board already exists for this series, I'd probably take the news ... the news that I've been excluded from it ... quite badly, so if such a board exists already, don't tell me about it.  Thanks.

Why not have a board for suggestions from fans and one that's just between staff writers?

To Alert all Writers:

-NONE of the Gang knows about Joel liking Cathy.

Way back in Season 1, Brian's whole storyline was that he liked Cathy and spent most of Season 2 getting over her. So Joel is going to keep it secret. In fact, Joel won’t really tell anyone till the episode “Heart’s Place.”

And technically their not boyfriend-girlfriend which is going to be a joke that both confuses and frustrates Joel.

Just letting you know.

Yeah, see ... that's the kind of thing that should be private, and just between the writers of the serial.  That's the kind of posting that we should do in a private board somewhere.

Cool. I'll hopefully PM you about writing an episode.

After a 3 week break, I just sent in
Ep. 6 "By All Means."
Teleplay by Bruce Snyder & Edward Drogos
Story by Bruce Snyder

Just giving people a heads up, it has a lot of gay and bisexual themes. In fact, in one scene a book called "A Buddhist's Perspective on Bisexuality" is discussed in detail.

Also John Mayer's "Daughters" is used.

Next on the lunchroom is "Home Is Where The War Is", an Alan Holman episode about Iraq and false identities. Look out for a Guest appearances from Kirk Hoey and Richard Belzer.

Hey Dudes, just wanted to chime in and say how great the show is and ask two questions.

1) How are new threads posted?

and

2) I'm trying to put together a series, but having trouble with ideas, anyone interested in co-creating/writing a series? I figured I'd post the offer here cause alot of writers seem to come in to offer help on the show. For my ideas, I'm thinking a drama, but with some comedy injected in. Anyway, cya

Well I've done a series before, but lost all the episodes up till the beginning of Season 4, and I cant remember most cocepts other than they were really good, and don't wanna ruin the whole thing with re-writes, so I could give you the basic info(which i mostly remember) and character detials, and start in Season 4. It was a lawyer drama, about the New York District Attorneys office, and a lawyer and his friends who work there.

That might work, or I was thinking a new lawyer drama, or a cop show, but I dunno about sitcoms. I find it eaiser to write drama and have the comedy come natrually in what the characters say and how they react, but I could try.

So basiclly, a court-thing or cop drama are my ideas, but I'm up to any input and ideas you may have

Why not draft up outlines and character bios and talk to a few other writers on the board?

I Haven't been with Simply scripts for too long...

(Well i have but i was inactive for a long time.)

...But my point is that The Lunchroom is my favorite Script on all of Simply Scripts.

You guys did a great job.

And somebody said something like this earlier, and it might have already happened, but if it hasn't happened then i'll say it agian.

The lunchroom Really needs it's on Website...It'll be wicked cool.

I tried playing Hide-and-Go-Seek with my imaginary friend Tom.

He was really good.

And i got tired. So i went back inside

And i don't know where he is now...

I beleive it has it's own site, but having it on Simply Scripts is fine as well.
More people may read it if it's on a site like Simply Scripts instead of it's lone site.
You know, I actually happened across this while browsing this site.
If it hadn't been for this site, I'd probably never read "The Lunchroom".

A long time ago, I lost the address to that special discussion board that's so special that the outdated internet connection I'm stuck with can't post on it, so because the only times I've ever went to read it, there was a lot I wanted to say, but couldn't, and it frustrated me a lot, and ... to make a long story short, I must graciously bow out of this.  Thanks for letting me write the stuff I wrote.  I look forward to reading the rest of the series.  I will not be providing the cross-over episode that I wanted to write, and still do want to write.  Peace.

Leaving...

Wow...I wasn't expecting that.

Well Alan, it was pleasure having you write for us. We still have a few more of your episodes to be posted, plus with all the random scenes and conversations you sent  you'll probably still get credit in future episodes.

Good luck with other projects and God Bless.

I'll return to provide at least two original episodes ONLY if you move the private staff discussion to a board that's compatible with the outdated browser I must use.  Does this mean I'm a control freak?  Probably.  Will it work?  That's for you to decide.

No. E-mail wouldn't work because the outdated browser in question -- the one I'm using right now -- isn't for a type of computer that uses any sort of Windows.  The reason that's a problem is because this browser can read that discussion board, but it cannot reply to anything in it.  That's a problem because A LOT of what I read in that board inspires me to have ideas for immediate replies, and I don't have time to go to my e-mail account, then back to the board, then my e-mail account, then back to the board, then my e-mail account, then back to the board, and so on.  This particular outdated browser can't copy the text from he board into an e-mail message so that i can reply to each point either.  However, a good solution would be if someone can be bothered to take time to send everything from the board to my e-mail account each week.  The first week, everything that's been posted until now.  The second week, everything that was posted in the previous week.  And so on.  That way i'd be able to reply to each point I should or can reply to, in a single e-mail.  God i wish I had a computer ... like normal people.

I'm with Alan in wanting a new discussion board. Something that is easier to move around in and is less cluttered.

I'm unsure of how much time I'll have to work on it. Maybe a weekend or two, but if I do a new version of my new play, I won't have time. I've also started a Sims 2 machinima, so I'd be balancing between that. But that will start production in the fall.

In many actual board rooms and most real cousils, all it takes is for a motion to be seconded before that motion is passed.  A motion is made.  If that motion is seconded, the leader passes it.  Then it's up to the members to decide how to follow that decision.  Of course, the leader always has the choice to not pass a motion that's been seconded, but that's not a topic that'd help my selfish needs, so I'll barely mention that possibility in this discourse.

Okay.

I've heard both ends of this. And here's my final verdict:

We will NOT be creating a new board.

I'm sorry to do this to you, Alan. But I've got to consider all the other writers as well. I mean Edward
created the board on his own free will because he cared about the other writers. So please, don't
think we don't care about you.

The board has been up and running for over a month now. We've had production meetings, we've
plotted episodes, we've created new characters...

...it would be very difficult to say to these people "We've got stop, destory the board, and start all
these topics up again."

I know the idea has been seconded, but there are still a lot of others who are not liking the idea. In
fact one writer said that this might be showing favoritism.

I'm sorry, Alan. But I just can't do it.

And if you check my wording, you'll see that I never specifically asked you to or told you to.  I just mentioned it as a suggestion ... just like how the creation of that board was also my suggestion.  Oh well.

I finally got a cable modem on a computer that can handle that LUNCHROOM board.  Now it's just a matter of remembering the address, then I'll gladly join and try to write some more content for ya ... that is, if you'll still have me after all that ruckus I caused.

I deeply apologize for all the long breaks between episodes.

There just has been some "personal" things to deal with such as Women and School. I'm sorry to the fans who (patiently) wait, sometimes a month, for a new episode.

Hopefully this weekend the newest episode will be up.

Here's what we got the final strech of Season 3.

3x09 "Shades of Gray" (this weekend)
A new recurring character is introduced, a character that will be both a joy and a major head ache for Chris.

3x10 "Heart's Place"
Joel's dirty little secret becomes public (sorta), while Reicther considers quiting his job.

3x11 "Slow Fuse"
Joel and Cathy go on a double date with Chris and his new girl (who is slightly mentally disturbed and suicidal.)

3x12 "Special Night"
Chris goes where no social outcast goes...at least until their 40. Meanwhile, Will is visited again by Richard Belzer.

3x13 "Feel the Force"
This will be about the new Star Wars film. Everyone is excited...but Will who is upset with George Lucas about the last two films. Will will have a fantasty sequence involving George Lucas and Young George Lucas.

3x14 "A Matter of Faith"
Casey's atheist  family and Kay's Pentecostal family have dinner and quickly an argument about the exsitence of God comes up. In a tribute to the HBO series "Oz", Richard (the student in the wheelchair) will intercut in the episode giving his views on the situation.

3x15 "Flix It"
Will gets upset with a local company editing and changing movies. Meanwhile, Tom (the gay student) beats the living crap out of a homophobe and Mr. Parker tries his hardest to save Tom from getting in trouble.

3x16 "All My Life" (SEASON FINALE)
Some storylines comes to end, some new ones are created and someone thinks that suicide is the answer.

With "Flix It" and "Feel the Force" we're trying to be topical.

We'll try our hardest to get these up in the next month.

I haven't read any LUNCHROOM yet but I'm gonna start soon, I just have a question, why is there a cast list on the scripts?

have you tried shooting it? A pilot maybe?

I'm looking for an easy-to-produce, low-budget ($7,000) script to be shot in the U.K. Any genre. FEATURE LENGTH ONLY!

Well for a long time, people had a hard time trying to picture these people. So we picked some actors to give people an idea of what these people look like.

Originally the name of the actors were links to pictures of them but I guess that didn't turn out right. They should be gone by the next episode.

Okay. We've finally reached the Season Finale.

Part 1 "Down the Hightway"

Chris comes over to Kate's when she claims there is an intruder in the house. But when he comes over he finds something more shocking. Will waits to audition for the new school play and while he waits Richard Belzer appears. He warns him about a girl, whom Will has been eyeing the whole time. Brock finally decides to end all contact with Sarah. After the double date incident, Joel tries his hardest to get in touch with Cathy.

Part 2 "Across the Street"

Fed up, Reicther decides he wants to quit his job and makes a big plan to do it. Stacy graduates and is surprised to see both Dave and Marilyn at the ceremony. As Will plans to talk to Ellen, Belzer makes one last chance to warn him. Debbie (Brian and Stacy's mom) sees Stacy kissing Marilyn. Joel and Cathy meet and she gives him an ultimatum. Chris reveals Kate's new secret to Casey. AND, in the episodes final moments, a character tries to kill themself.

I feel I've been dishonest with Bruce and the rest of the writers, so I'd like to clear up a few things.

It is true that I have far too much shark on my hands to deal with a web series right now (including my own that I am starting up), but the real truth of the matter is that I don't know how to write for these characters. Maybe its just that I'm out of touch with writing slapstick comedy. The thing is, this series is SO psuedoepisodic that it makes my head spin whenever I try to write a scene. I don't want to let anyone down, most of all Bruce, one of the most original writers I've ever "worked with" or seen.

As I've been keeping up with the series, I noticed that Reichter really reminds me of Marshall (Timm Sharp) from "Undeclared". Similar quirky mannerisms, and parents that want them to do something they don't. For me, this is a good thing, as I loved that character.

Beginnings - It's high school all over again. Seriously. (now fixed and cleaned!)
