Wow, that episode was amazing. Packed full of comedy and drama, and longer than usual to kick off the season.

Comedic highlights include the first Will/Ellen conversation (especialy cause I heard the arguement at least twice while at Comic-Con in New York) and the Mcdonalds statues.

Dramatic highlights were definatly Chris and Cathy's problems, and I can't wait to get more on Cathy's situtation.

Great to see the Lunchroom back Bruce, i've been looking almost everyday hoping it was here.

Thanks for the comment thisaccountsucks01. I'm glad your enjoying the season so far.

I just wanted to kinda of give a small assortment of items that will be happening in this, the final season:

-The next episode will be centered around the Nintendo Wii and the S.A.T.s.

-Episode 4 will feature a major plot change and see the return of Mr. E.

-Episode 5 marks the return of Jordan Jones.

-Episode 6 will be the last episode for one our Series Regular. He/She has been around since Season 1.

-Episode 7 is going to be an anthology episode with 4 different short segments all centered around a very taboo subject: sex.

-Episode 8. Misunderstanding leads two enemies to end up kissing each other.

-Episodes 9 & 10 will be a two parter about a blackout. Written by guest writers George Wilson and Steven Cameron.

-Episode 11. Joel and Brian have a big fight...is it over that certain someone?

-Episode 12. Stacy returns -- with a big surprise.

-Episode 13 & 14 Our special 1 hour prom episode where every character experiences some major changes.

-Episode 15 - The life of one of the Gang may be coming to an end.

-Episodes 16, 17, 18 - The 90 minutes Series finale.

Also, Will's new love interest Nadine is going to be hanging around for a while.

Hey Bruce, Episode 2 was great also, I can't believe everyone isn't flocking to this board like I am! The episode previews have got me anticipation every one of them, especially Episode 6.

Looks like it'll be a fun ride to the end.

Another small update.

Almost finished with Episode 4, titled "Teacher's Pet." It's probably the most controversial thing we've done since the KKK episode in Season 1. It deals with some very close relationships between teachers and students. VERY close.

Some of what I listed above is going to change. Mr E will not return in Episode 4, but instead episode 11.

The Series Finale is being written on the side as the season progresses. Expect to see a very large amoung of Guest Stars.

Hopefully who ever is reading is enjoying.

(Time for my "I love The lunchroom" post, considering the new episode is out.) I loved it. Looking forward to the next one.

On a different note, you said something to me awhile back about possibly adapting the show to TV, anything happening with that, or did it just never happen?

Wow, so I caught up, great episodes. I noticed morer typos than usual, but that doesn't bother me.

Anyway, Episode Sx actually bummed me out pretty bad. I had forgotten you said one of the characters would be leaving, and so when it happened. I was shocked. I'm also a little bummed it was Chris, cause I think his storyline could've had a lot of potential, and it sucks to see a character that has made me laugh for four seasons go out on such a down note.

Chris isn't gone yet. Episode Seven will be his last episode and it will more of a high note then Episode 6.

Trials of Chris Hughes" was used basically to set up Chris' final appearance.

Believe me when I say that Chris' actual last episode will be a happy one. While we don't wrap up his story completely, we do close this chapter of his life.

Chris will return before the series ends and we'll wrap up his story then.

Thanks for the read.

Ah, awesome. I was just re-reading the thread at the tme and saw that you said Episode Six would be the last episode of a Series Regular, so I made that assumption. I should've known they'd close everything up.

Glad to hear he'll go out on a high note, can't wait for it.

Are they actually going to be filmed or are they just made for a website so it looks like a cool "add-on" for the presentation?

They're used as "add-ons"

Stopped by to give an update.

It's been a while since we last had an episode up and it's going to be just a wee bit longer before we start again. We're on hiatus right now, stockpiling scripts and reworking existing scripts.

We're looking at either a March 5th start date or April 2nd start date. I know it seems like a long time but on the plus side this way they'll be no more breaks. Just the final 12 episodes in a row, without interruption.

Next episode will be the hour long goodbye to Chris entitled "It Happened One Night."

Really looking forward to the rest of the season. Oh, and those DVD covers are awesome.

I really love Paul Rudd as Parker, hah. And the kid who's picture you used for Reicther, awesome.

I'm a little new to this and just read the entire first season last night, I'm in the middle of second season right now. I must say, it is a very good show with characters. It's almost like the a more mature version of Degrassi (IMO). Great job and I can't wait to see the rest of the series.

Episode 9 is done and will hopefully be turned in sometime tonight.

Episode 10 is about 75% done. It needs a dialogue wash and to have Act 3 revised.

Episodes 11 & 12 have yet to be finished but they are being written.

Episode 13 is done but needs to have a subplot changed.

Episodes 14 & 15 are being written.

Episode 16 (the last one) has some material written down but is still in the early stages of development.

Basically we're halfway done with the last season. I must admit one reason it's taking such a long time to get them all out is because my reluctance to say goodbye to these characters.

Just sent in the the newest episode...

It was written by myself and George "Fempiror Chronicles" Willson.

Other updates include:

-"HouseBoy" creator Daniel Kreiner has come in and has written 2 episodes.

-Following "Blackout! Part 2" we're doing an episode called "Secret Origins" which will show how The Gang came to be.

-After the "Blackout!" episodes there will be 5 episodes left: "Secret Origins", "Love Of My Life", "Time Stands Still", "Into That Good Night" and "Ain't That Peculiar (Series Finale")

-Stacy will return on a recurring basis.

-I can't say how but Chris will be making an appearance in some form before the series ends.

-Along with Chris, numerous other characters from the past will be showing up in our final installments.

-We're going to see Reicther in a new light with "Time Stands Still."

-A Wedding will happen.

-Mortality, Change, and Family are major themes in the last 5 episodes.

That's all for now.

It's been about two months since the last update so I thought I catch everyone up to speed.

-Episode 11 is up and running so check it out.
-Episode 12 is being written and is close to being finished, same goes for 13, 14, 15.
-Episode 13 will reveal the origin of The Gang. How they became friends and how they became The Gang.
-Episode 14 & 15 will be our Prom two-parter. I think these two episodes are some of our best stuff we've ever done.
-Episode 16 is done with the exception of one or two touch-ups. Mortality is the focus and features some of the most dramatic stuff we've ever done.

The Last Episode is being written as well and I can only tell you a few things:
-Shooting for about a 90 minute episode so that's about equal for four 22 minute episodes. So technically it's episodes 17, 18, 19, & 20 all in one.
-The episode is titled "Ain't That Peculiar" after our theme song.
-The Libertines' song "Don't Look Back Into The Sun" will play an important role in the episode's final moments.
-There are one or two scenes that mirror scenes from our pilot episode, "Things Fall Apart."
-Stacy, Kirk, Joseph, Principal (now superintendent) Stevens, Richard,  and Tom Lawrence all appear. Family members of The Gang will also be present (i.e., Reicther’s father, Brian’s mother).
-Lots of inside jokes about the series itself.
-Mr. Parker delivers a memorable graduation speech.

And there's definitely no chance of a season 6?

With all the guys going off and starting their own seperate lives, there's a variety of ideas for giving one of the characters a spin-off. Any thoughts on that?

Sadly, there is no chance at all of a 6th Season. This is is just the end of The Lunchroom. And yes while I agree that with everyone separating that opens us up to a million different potential spin-off ideas I just don't think any of them would work. Mainly because of where the character actually end up at the end of the last episode.

Update/Upcoming Info

**Episode 14 is done and is currently going through a last minute rewrite. Should be sent into Don by Sat. or Sun. It will conclude the prom storyline but (hopefully) not in the way you expect. Also expect to get to see a different side of Reicther.

**Episode 15 -75% done. This should be done by the end of the month. I know i've said that before but I really mean it this time. I'm on a serious mission to end The Lunchroom before Christmas 2009. Lots of big events happening in this one not to mention that there will a great deal of set-up for the series finale.

**Episode 16 (The Last Episode) - More of a movie then an episode. My wish is have to completed sometime during the holidays so around November/Decemeber. Graduation is the main plot point that drives this episode while separation anxiety is a major theme. Not every character will get a "happy" ending.

It's been far to long for an update.  Apologizes for that. I've been doing freelance work for the last year or so that's keep me busy.

Just finished second draft of the last episode. Going through now to do one last rewrite before posting. Again sorry for the numerous delays.

Yes. It will be posted later this summer.

I apologize for the delay. Shortly after Episode 15 was posted, I was given the opportunity of doing some freelance writing work. So since last summer, I've been writing a feature length screenplay for a small production company that's been eating away all of my writing time.

I promise, the final episode WILL be posted. I'm not going to give up with just 1 episode left.

By the sounds of things on this thread, you've been writing episode 16 since 2008, so I'm sure its gonna be worth the wait. I thought the delay might have had something to do with you not wantign to say goodbye to this show. You could always do a Christmas special now and then?

I've only been writing episode 16 since the fall of 2010. It's been in outline form since 2008.

The delay has been mostly about other outside work but I will admit, a part of is hesitant to say goodbye. I have been writing about these characters since 2004 so it's a bit strange to live without them.

So when the day finally comes that you post the final episode and it's offically the end, what's next? A spin-off, a new sitcom? Or a different genre, perhaps?

I'll probably take a stab at feature length scripts. While I loved doing a virtual series, I don't know if I have enough free time anymore to do another one.

Feature length? Cool. You should check out Matthew Dressel's work, you and him have got a similar style of humour and I think you could make a really good script together.
