Anatomy of a Crisis by Fausto Lucignani - Short, Drama, Apocolypse - When the adversary rejects reasoning, swift punishment is the only solution. 4 pages
production: Shoestring production. Highest dramatic impact. - pdf, format
This one is simply not convincing. To make us believe that this could really happen this way, you may have to include a great deal more information. What are the domestic implications? What are the international implications? How many countries will line up with the president? How many will line up with N. Korea? What do the polls say? What's the feeling in Congress? And there are many other considerations I can't think of. In a situation like this, both sides would look for a way out, a way where they can save face and maintain credibility. Give them that.
LF, thank you very much for your correction on page 2.
Richard, I appreciate your comments. I'm aware that the story should have been presented as a feature...kind of documentary/feature. Mine is just a flash presentation of how the N. Korean confrontation could evolve. My best, Fausto
Hi Fausto, how are you? I found the conversation too simplistic. I understand nothing about US politics and terms they use...but I would assume it would be more complex...less informational. )
Hi Villas, nice "talking" to you again. I hope everything is well in your life. The conversation is a little "simplistic" because it reflects the talking style of President Trump...very linear, almost childish. And at the end, he uses profanities because he could not achieve what he had in mind: N. Korea disarmament. In essence, the story presents the possible outcome of the present crisis. Thank you very much for your suggestion. Don't be a stranger. Fausto
Fausto - way too on the nose and simplistic in the dialogue. You spend a lot of time in dialogue with items that are really common knowledge. Look for subtlety.
Eldave, thank you for your observations. My problem was that I wanted to present the way President Trump would have argued the nuclear issue. OK, the dialogue is on the nose but if you analyze Trump's way of talking, well, "simplistic" is the norm. No subtleties in his expressions. My best, Fausto
