Since I'm new around here... and nobody would even know enough to guess... I wrote Vomit Draft.

Thanks to all the comments and feedback. All were helpful.

(BTW, this things a BLAST! Can't believe how invested I got over the week.)

One of my favorites! Good work.

Hey PK Cardinal, I though Vomit Draft was really impressive. Are you new to writing, or just new to the board?

New to the board. I've been writing since 2012. Started with sitcoms, moved to contained thrillers last year. (I did have some contest success with my very first script, and even optioned it. But, it didn't go anywhere.)

The fact that I couldn't make Vomit Draft funnier was a source of immense frustration. This is my first "timed" event. I realized late that there just wasn't enough funny in there (not even close). But, by then it was too late. I'm lucky to get another shot.

You guys have a great site here. I've got so much to learn still, and this site is going to help immensely.

There are different levels of humour. Your script nailed one of them.

I write Independence Day. Tough for me because I suck at sci-fi, that’s probably why so many said they didn’t get it, what happened, what did the ending mean? I wish I could tell you all. I wrote it in an hour the night of. Think I’ll start a little earlier this time.

I enjoyed it. Though, I'll agree, I didn't get the ending. You may have to make something up... just to give us closure!

Good luck in round 2.

Very nice work, PK.

And Alex, I remember your entry about the geese in the window - haha, didn't think you had it in you. Impressive, something that will stick with me. I was even thinking to reread it. The humor in it right up my alley, some of the sketches of my favorite show, Kids In The Hall, are just like that.

And Stevie's was pretty impressive as well. I must confess I voted for Stevie's but it was a pretty tough choice for me.

I'm going against the writer of A Hundred Midnights... Oh, man.

Sorry to ask on the main thread but it's probably good for all to know.

So, you all think ghosts are not a sci-fi?
It's paranormal and supernatural. So, it's either fantasy or sci-fi. I always thought that fantasy is more like Harry Porter.

The reason I'm asking - you all said I didn't stick to the parameters (You May Come In). Even those who voted for it said that. Which is fine. But I'm surprised how's that everyone else thinks differently.

I'm up against PKCardinal. He had a really well liked script from people here.

I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Good luck.

Not sure if he sees it equally, but we both went with absurdity in my opinion – blind pilot against geese that can drop eggs in flight. Definitely short sketches these are but aren't those films as well? Imo anything else wouldn't have been justified executions. Rather, put them in a jet cabin and move toward a punchline at the ending.

Then your own entry rolled quite well, Kham. Just wasn't sure how the medium does what she does, which cost you points on story and character. Would be nice if you clear up once.

Science fiction typically carries a connotation of space, aliens or future technology. Ghosts for more into horror/supernatural, neither of which are sci-fi.
