A pair of gloomy screenwriters, with a volatile hatred for the film Groundhog Day, find themselves trapped in the same day - and theater - where the film plays non-stop.

First 8 page rough draft - https://robert-timsah.com/not-groundhog-day-again/

Robert, I read what you have so far and I think it's pretty amusing. If this is a feature length idea my only qualm is where's it going to go?
Do I have to sit through Groundhog Day again?

They're stuck in a theatre with it playing on endless loop?

At least at Michael's house they had room to move.

What prevents Rebecca & Dan from just walking out?

I know you said no typos, format stuff etc., But this kept tripping me up.
...A large TV hung on the wall.
A gigantic or enormous wall-mounted TV?

Yes, all good questions. Initial idea is...

removed.

They go to leave - there's a blizzard just like in Groundhog Day! Dan is going to die a few times, frozen to death like Jack in The Shinning.

Oh and I'm thinking it's a 12 screen theater, but groundhog Day is playing on all screens haha. But it gives me a lot of characters and people, along with staff. Worst case scenario I could extend it to a mall with a theater?

Bill Murray running the concessions.

I do think it might work to have what's happening on screen, at certain times, mirroring what's happening within Dan and Rebecca's story, but God only knows with this thing, LOL

Wall mounted tv yeah. Although I suppose it would be 2003 era!

Spot on about the TV, and 2003, but they had 42" plasmas back then, so that'll work.

Keep at it. Sounds like fun.

Thanks. At the very least it's fun and challenging to write, that's for sure.
