Script Haven, free to post on, but a couple of call outs that I've noticed just reading through the site and Terms of use...

1) It insists on the script being WGA registered.
2) It takes 15% cut of any Option or Sale price, so that'd be off your money!
3) It appears to be only for US citizens as it asks for US State and Zipcode with no way of saying you aren't in the US.

https://www.scripthaven.com/

I'm not sure how this will differentiate itself from Inktip, ScriptRevolution etc, and I'm not entirely sure why there's so many of these springing up at the moment.

Note: Seen a FB answer from the company re point 3) and they are indeed just taking US customers at the moment.

I do like the concept of a site being incentived to actually sell scripts.  You would think that if they only make their money by actually selling something - they'd have a leg of versus those that make their money by merely hosting something.

When I get time - going to  go through their T & Cs

Agree Dave, they may try harder if they are essentially only making money on commission, what I'm not such a big fan of is the way they seem to have hidden this in the T&Cs - though I could have missed it elsewhere.

And for most unproduced screenwriters 15% is probably a small price for the chance of selling a script.

The potential flaw in their model is that I can't see what would stop the interested parties from just connecting outside of the platform and cutting Script Haven out of things entirely - guess that's for them to resolve.

15% is huge. They better be working as an agent for that price.

If you talk to real, working professional producers they will tell you, they don’t have to go searching for scripts or pay to read any. So many scripts get sent to them, they have to either only accept via agents or have brief submission windows as there is a deluge.  I was at a workshop once where a producer from LA said as much, he also added that all he has to do in LA is walk into any coffee shop and ask if anyone has a screenplay and he’d get a dozen thrown at him easily. Why would any of these need to trawl through script hosting sites hoping to find the next big hit?

Sites like this are to generate cash in the first instance and to get a lot of ideas for free as a bonus. It’s a market so saturated by junk, the junk has become an industry in itself, generating cash from scrap.

My other concern is - you make your own connection outside the site with a producer that uses the site - you’re in the right but may create some ugly litigation.

Still i may look at it.

15% isn’t that what a normal agent gets,   So for us not being able to get an agency - it would be the same.

Going to be a nope for me.

When registering they want your bank account number and your routing number so that they can process any payments you get.  This is mandatory as a part of uploading scripts. I would never give out that type of information.

Exactly.

I think that is why they only have 79 scripts on the site. I emailed them my concern. Interesting to see what they have to say.

They'll throw some morally-suspect bullshit your way if they even respond at all.

The producers who search on the internet for short film scripts and even features, all land here. Why pay for something that Don provides for free? Your scripts are just as well protected and have a timestamp. If you want to spend money, Paypal it over to Don. Or me, I'll gladly take that burden.

Well said Dustin!

... Why pay for something that DON provides for free.

The day I sell my first script, would have been made possible from the help and assistance I've received from ALL on this site.

SO YEE... I'll then make a nice donation.
PS: A note of interest - I live in South Africa where the RAND to $ exchange rate is 21 to 1 . Thus, If I get paid $100,000 I'll have 2.1MILLION Rands

Did I just see DON Smile....
