Alright, i said philip k. dick was awesome at sci-fi, but William Gibson has to be recognized too... totally sweet stories, all of them. Look up JOHNNY MNEMONIC for a sample.....though, it was a pretty bad movie and it had Keanu Reeves at his less than finest.....and.....it was a bad movie... BUT TRUST ME!!! he rocks

If you like Gibson (Neuromancer, Burning Chrome, New Rose Hotel, etc), check out a cat named Walter John Williams. His stuff is cool Cyberpunk with its own identity, rather than a rip of Gibson or Dick.

It's funny...Keanu made one of the worst Cyberpunk movies ever (Johnny Mnemonic), but followed it up with the best Cyberpunk movie EVER (The Matrix).

havnt read Neuromancer yet ( said to be his best book ) but Pattern Recognition ( his most recent i believe ) was really great. Not really into reading novels alot but this was really entertaining

I have to respectfully disagree. Neal Stephenson is THE MAN!!! Check out his work! They'd make awesome movies, too. I hope to see them in theaters someday. And some of Greg Egan's stuff would also translate well to film.
