This is a great, strange film from Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream). It stars Sean Gullette as Maximillian Cohen, a genius in mathematics who is trying to find a pattern in the stock market.

It is a tale of isolation, paranoia and obsession. Has an excellent score and a great performance by Gullette. There are people out to get Max (an aggressive wall street firm and a Kabbalah sect).

"9:18. Personal note:
When I was a little boy my mother told me not to stare into the sun. So once when I was six I did."

"11:15. Restate my assumptions:
1. Mathematics is the language of nature.
2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.
3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature."

Get it watched.

I agree. It's a great little film. Aronofsky really built a harrowing atmosphere through a haunting score and clever editing.

It's a must-see.
