Please Note: This movie is part of an elaborate plan for the Star Trek franchise which includes 4 additional movies and 2 television shows before it. With that in mind, this script makes mention of an event which is yet to take place, the "galactic war". With the time frame I've planned out, the war should take place approximately 5 years before the events in this movie. Since this movie will probably never be filmed, feel free to inquire about more information if it's necessary to appreciate the script better.
Why would you choose to write a screenplay that would only be written by an experienced writer? Has there ever been a screenplay written by a "baby writer" that has been used by a franchise producer?
There are a number of unproduced large franchise movie screenplays on this site, and I think that the writers are wasting their time in not creating their own original high concept screenplays.
Here's the deal dude. The last two Trek films bombed quite badly, they were written by experienced writers. And Rick Berman, also an experienced writer, is showing he's running out of ideas. So instead of complaining about how bad Trek has been lately, I decided to see if I could come up with something better.
Honestly I would love to get this thing produced, but I've slowly come to realize that will be quite improbable. So my next project is going to be an original idea. But I decided to finish this since this is my first screenplay and the experience will be good for me regardless. Which also means it's a good idea to submit it on here for critiquing so I can learn what I need to work on when I start writing my next one.
