Who knows about this news?

"Tarantino is accused of plagiarism. The accusations were made by Dannez Hunter, who claims to have sent to studios Miramax, in 1999, a screenplay very similar to "kill Bill", but never received a response. Hunter asks over 1 million dollars compensation nor company Miramax."

I would think the case would hinge on whether the material was solicited or not, no?

Because I know most of the big companies post on their websites that (i) they do not accept unsolicited manuscripts and (ii) if you choose to send it, they own your idea.

I'm imagining that since the guy's bringing a case that it was solicited...

Way to wait seven years. Moron. I'm really starting to hate these guys.

I don't buy it.  I mean, I've always talked about how Tarantino basically steals everything he uses, but moreso in a grabbing small things from really obscure movies and using them as if they were his own.

I highly doubt he actually stole this guy's idea maliciously.  He's pretty open about where his influences come from.

Although I won't lie, it's really infuriating when I'm watching an old movie and I see something he ripped off that I thought was his.

Yeah you'd have to wonder why its only coming to our attention now. Methinks he's fighting a losing battle there.

The guy just wants money. There was also a guy accusing James O'Barr of co-writing the original The Crow graphic novel with him and not giving him any credit...but he decided to wait fifteen years to speak out.

Whether these gys WERE ripped off or not, they deserve it for being so fucking stupid and not suing until a decade has passed.

Except for like... women.

Or unattractive people.
