The October, 2011 One Week Challenge genre was Gothic Horror.  The theme was Ghosts are not bad, just misunderstood.

Participants had one week to write a 6 - 12 page script on the genre and theme.   There were 38 scripts which were read and discussed over on the discussion board.  One script was selected to be audio performed by the fine folks over at iScript.com.

That selected script is Veil of Blood by Ryan Lee.

A young woman ventures to her uncle's crumbling plantation in 1874 Louisiana.

You can read along with the pdf version of the script.  You can discuss this script and all the OWC entries here.

Listen to the iScript here

Thanks to everyone who participated in the challenge. - Don

Congrats Ryan, fine work and it was in my top three. I'm just happy my script didn't "blow goat balls" as bad as Phil's did. At least, according to the writer feedback...

Ha Ha.

He didn't win.  It isn't a contest.

The top three writer's choice scripts were sent to iScript.com.

Lori and her team at iScript read the three scripts and selected one.

The top three Writer's Choice script writers will receive a crappy SimplyScripts coffee mug.

Congrats, Ryan.  have to say I'm quite surprised though.

James, you're right, Phil's script did blow goat balls.

Personally, I like this new ranking system.  Big improvement over anythign i've seen here before.

Congarts to all who entered and read and provided feedback.  To those who entered and didn't provide feedback...you should go out back and blow some goat balls.

I want a mug!!!

Regardless, Congrats Ryan and everyone for completing an OWC script.   I really liked the reader scale voting used - so appropriate for scripts.   Well done.

Congrats, Ryan.

I’m not at all surprised. Veil of Blood had the best description of all the scripts in my opinion. It was number three on my list for that very reason. I’m sure the iScript people recognized that it was the best of the three for a recorded reading.

Also, congrats to Darren for being the number one reader’s choice.

And finally, congrats to Bill for making it into the top three.

You guys all did a great job!

Yes, just to clarify...I wasn't surprised because of the quality of the script, just because Open Casket seemed liked a fait accompli.
