Came out earlier this morning depending where you live. Like the title page says, this is basically a poll of sorts where film executives and the like vote for their 'favourite' script they've read this year. And from my knowledge, the scripts are already chosen into a pile of 340 and narrowed down?

Very surprised to see Section 6 on there, just a convoluted mess. Probably one of the five or so that I've actually read.

Although I'm very happy to see Sugar in my Veins, easily in my top 5 scripts, just perfect in every way. It takes a special kind of writer to write this gem.

The writer for Sovereign was snooping around reddit yesterday hoping his script would make it there, was definitely someone new to the industry so hats off to him for getting a high score.

Autopsy of Jane Doe is also a solid script that's very well written, albeit a little bland. And then there's Where Angels Die and Ink and Bone, I won't even get into that... Patient Z is there, one of the best concepts of the year but it needs a lot of work.

But yeah, good stuff all around.

So...who's got the scripts?  

Besides a select few of them, definitely not me, that's for sure.

I think peeps who have a subscription over at the tracking board might have already compiled a list on the forums. I'm thinking of buying a subscription just for that but the price seems a little steep. Seems worth it if you're into the selling/reading side of the business.

I know he doesn't come around here very much these days, but an old SS member, Mr Z, just made the Tracking Board's Hit List!!!!!!!!

Mr. Z, aka Matias Caruso is one of, if not my most favorite screenwriter. He simply kicks ass with story and writing! AND, he's not even an English native!

Read him and learn! I have no doubt that he will make the big time one day!  

I just noticed that, very cool feat. I remember reading one of his shorts on MP around when I first started writing. I still remember it vividly, I think it was called Black Rose Garden? Solid piece, nicely written. I wish him the best of luck.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took him that long. I swear he won (or placed really high in) the Trackingb contest back in either 2011 or 2012. Still a great feat for him. =)

Jason Hellerman, who wrote Shover Buddies (22 mentions) was an intern where I work a year ago. With some hard work and dedication, things can turn around in a second... or a year.

I have a separate MatiasCaruso folder with his shorts. Haven't read his features - well, may see them in theatre one day or something. Just a matter of time, I guess.

I read Where Angels Die a few weeks back. I really don't see what the fuss is about with that script. Seems very average to me.
