Last night was my wife's turn to pick a movie and she picked the film "About Time" to watch, I thought this was going to be your standard romantic comedy but I was pleasantly surprised and I really loved the film.
The Synopsis is "At the age of 21, Tim discovers he can travel in time and change what happens and has happened in his own life. His decision to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend turns out not to be as easy as you might think."
This plays out as more of a romantic Dramedy then a straight comedy. Definitely will make you laugh but also has many heart felt moments that make you think about how you view life.
It had its slow points in the middle and a plot hole or two but overall this really is a great film, Great performances by the actors and some excellent writing/directing by Richard Curtis I highly recommend it.
I know this review is coming a bit late as this movie came out in 2013 but seeing as I dont recall hearing much about it when it was released I thought I would post this up to get it some more attention.
That's all I can be bothered saying about it, really.
Yeah that was my one complaint also, i think a good 10 minutes could be cut from the middle because it did really slow down there.
I think my expectations were so low going in that I just really appreciated a unique film with a good message. So many retreaded ideas in all of mainstream film but especially romantic comedies, It was refreshing to see a thoughtful unique film.

Lot of time travel movies these past few years.
This didn't seem too interesting to me, but I thought about watching it. Maybe sometime in the future.
Yes lots of time travel movies lately, discouraged me from developing a time travel concept I have been kicking around for awhile, Maybe I will return to it eventually.
Out of the recent crop of time travel movies "Looper" is by far my favorite, In fact it is one of my favorite movies to come out in a long time.
As far as this film, It didnt seem interesting to me either, I would have never picked it if my wife didnt but it was far better then I ever expected it to be.
I guess this is evidence I should use the search function of the forum.
I see you felt the complete opposite of me lol oh well film like any art is subjective. I can definitely see how this film wouldnt be everyones cup of tea.
Oh and apologies for creating a redundant topic if mods want to delete this or whatever that is fine

I don't think there's any need for apologies. Especially when you're a dancing Dinklage. At least you didn't murder anyone. Especially not a monarch. That thing with the wildfire was good. How quickly they forget. Ungrateful peasants.
I'm sure the mods could merge the threads. They're good that way.
Now, the goat I got yesterday has decided the feed I give him is substandard. He prefers my sofa. Not sure of the nutritional value of this, so I have to go the market. And possibly the sofa shop.
