I know there are a few filmmakers here. I'm currently writing for a newly developed TV series and they are looking for filmmakers who would be able to shoot a few short scenes for several storylines within the series. There is no upfront pay (low budget project) but a profit share and credits will be given. The production company is based in the USA and successfully published a movie in cinemas worldwide so far. Their second movie will premiere in cinemas around the US in mid december. This is their first TV project and it is an international project which involves scenes shot in all continents. Several networks and web distributors have been contacted and have shown some interest so far.

The series tells the storylines of several characters. They all work towards the same goal, but only rarely interact with each other. An episode will switch between different storylines, so for each character, a couple of short scenes (1-2 minutes) have to be shot. My assigned characters so far are a hostage taker and his victim and a computer nerd/hacker. I've written another outline for a faith healer's story line but it's not yet ben greenlit by the production company. The first season will have 20 episodes.

If any of the film makers here are interested to learn more about this, please just message me. It would also be great if you had contacts to actors (amateurs / students) which would like to participate.

I probably won't have time myself, but I think it would help any of those interested to have a bit more information; namely, regarding budget?

It seems a little strange to me that they won't be producing and shooting the episodes in house -- and are even willing to do this remotely -- as that will essentially involve the guys who do shoot their individual scenes acting as their own producers?

As the majority of scenes are shot by local filmmakers, the budget is really low. Probably only used for editing, post-production and support of the local filmmakers in terms of finding crew, equipment, actors, locations aso. It's certainly not a project to make a fortune with, but it's a safe and proven way to earn credits (imdb) and a profit share based on level of commitment. Plus from what I can say by now, it's incredible fun to work with other creatives from all over the world, from Japan/China/India/Europe/Africa/South America/USA. The pilot episode has now finished it's final edit and post production, early cuts of episodes 2 and 3 are online as well. I wish I could show you the videos, you'd be excited about the quality. Looks very professional.

I'd love to share more info about this, but I'm a little cautious due to the stuff I had to sign when i joined. I asked if I was allowed to show the series trailers / teasers around but unfortunately I'm not at this time as they are in negotiations with possible distribution channels and don't want to make too much of it public by now.
