I found this to be an interesting concept.  Not sure if it could have explained more why Santa  wasn't around and they needed the help.  That' was the only thing I wasn't sure about.

Personally I found the name "Lon" strange, I've never heard of that name before but I'm sure it's just me.

Lon's line seem strange here, maybe a typo?
