I'm an award-winning and produced scriptwriter with a completed, mid-budget, action-adventure feature script set in south Florida and the Caribbean:

Title: One Way Tickets, A Dwight Manning Adventure

Logline: A retired combat veteran leads discount heroes on a suicidal rescue attempt in the Caribbean to free his 'Ugly American' younger brother.

Synopsis: An emotionally unavailable retired combat veteran living in south Florida with his bacon eating cat gets a call in the middle of the night telling him his younger 'Ugly American' brother has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom in the Dominican Republic.

Paying the ransom is the last thing on the retired vet's mind. With the eager assistance of a small group of discount heroes bored with peace time living, he initiates a reckless and daring rescue attempt which will leave a trail of death, destruction and a little grand larceny.

The Caribbean has never been more deadly.

The inspiration for this slightly dark and quirky action adventure was something my older brother, a retired Marine Corps combat veteran, said to me just before I traveled overseas to host a workshop in the Middle East, "Don't go over there, get in trouble and make me come get you out."

The first pages of this script are posted here: https://www.scriptrevolution.com/scripts/one-way-tickets

EDIT: Link to the published novella with this same title has been taken down...Let's just focus on the script right now, but I do hasten to add the novella is essentially a Director's Cut written in my very own, not-too-wordy spartan prose.

As you read this thread, you will find out One Way Tickets is merely the first in a series of three completed feature scripts all of which "star" the same leading characters. The other two completed feature scripts are Tropical Princess and Animal Rescue.

My profile is posted in the link below and thank you for your consideration.

Producer and directors do come here to look for scripts. If you are hoping someone will take interest in your script, you might have more luck uploading the script here to SS rather than posting a link to your book and profile on this board. They usually peruse the script boards when looking.

Good luck.

Thank you for your encouragement, but I do not wish to post a completed feature script on the internet. The link https://www.scriptrevolution.com/scripts/one-way-tickets contains the first pages of this script. If anyone is interested in reading the completed script after reading the first pages, I will be happy to comply. All they need do is identify themselves. I have suggested this type of partial posting of completed feature scripts to Don as a means to help discourage what I will call "anonymous internet mischief."

I have edited my initial post to show link to first pages of this script and removed link to novella. Thank you for bringing this confusion to my attention.

John

Pia, is that you?! If it is, I gotta ride up to the Swamp someday on my large German motorcycle as big as a parade float and buy you lunch -- I'm down here in Winter Park.

Evening John

Be hard to get up to much mischief, internet or otherwise, with a script that you've also novelised and can buy off Amazon...

How's the bike?

Hey Anthony!

Yes, the world is filled with an over abundance, a plethora, of digital flotsam and jetsam (like mine), but when possible I like to have a paper trail and get a name before sending my stuff out into cyberspace.

As always, YMMV.

John

The bike: Now has 20,000 miles on it. It's like an old man's dream come true. I alway smile when I remember your comment on first seeing a photo, "You could joust on that thing!"

@Anthony. It gets worse. I liked the characters so much in One Way Tickets, I wrote two more spec Dwight Manning Adventure features: Tropical Princess and Animal Rescue - It's now a friggin' franchise in the making!

^^^Anthony, Anthony, Anthony... It's always about the money and commercial exploitation with you isn't it. By the by, that's sequels with an 'S', not just sequel. There be THREE completed feature scripts, but for now, finding a good home for One Way Tickets is job number one. John
