I was very excited when I saw this pop up on Netflix - And I wasn't disappointed. It's entertaining from start to finish.

Have never read the books, but I have played the game, so I may be a bit biased. I am very much into my fantasy worlds and this, in my opinion, is the best of the year.

The critics don't seem to like it, but the audience does (going off Rotten Tomatoes) and it's the audience score I pay most attention to. I have also seen comparisons with GOT which in my book seems a bit silly, there are inevitably similarities in all fantasy but the narrative is completely different.

Fun fact - There are more people playing "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" now than on the day of its release 4 years ago, because of this show.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Others seem to have a problem with the jumbled timeline - For me, when it finally clicked, it was more of an "Ooooh" moment than a "huh?" moment. I thought it was done well and led the audience to that conclusion nicely (more observant viewers probably got to that conclusion before me)

Henry Cavill plays the role well, as do the supporting cast - There wasn't much I disliked to be honest.

If you like the fantasy genre with magic and monsters - then this will be for you

NB: you will also get the song "Toss a coin to your witcher" stuck in your head for days - be warned

Yeah this was a great series. If I had one gripe it was that some of the creature effects could have been better, but it's a pretty minor one.

Looking forward to the next season in 2021 apparently

Being a HUGE fan of the PS4 game Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I was very excited when I heard about this series.

I've watched 2 episodes so far, and my big question is, "Where is the Witcher?"  I mean, seriously, in episode 2, I think he may have about 12 minutes of screen time, maybe another minute or 2 in which he's being discussed.  I need more...an awful lot more.

I also think it needs more nudity, sex, violence, much like the game gives us.  So far, it feels rather watered down.

I won't give up, and I sure hope my interest increased with coming episodes.

No grade yet...

Found some time to catch up on Witcher...

I started this a few months ago and, like Jeff, got a couple episodes in, yawned and timed-out.

And then my wife gave me the Witcher Omnibus graphic novel for Christmas, finished it last week and resumed Witcher. Damn! They nailed it. Witcher has certain rules that he lives by and, now that I know them, he makes sense. I also thought Cavill was somewhat one dimensional but he did an great job. And know knowing who Yenefer and Ciri are, it makes it even better.

I think this was produced for people that know something about who this character is and his background story and his tie to the two women.

The non-linear timeline, once realized, makes sense but now I need to watch it again.

I loved the series and looking forward for the next season.
The timeline was a problem, but once you realize what is when you're good to go.

I've watched 2 more episodes, and although better, I'm still not nearly as thrilled as I should be.

Enjoying Tiger King and Ozark much, much more, but I'll get back to this...
