One of 2 movies I watched over the weekend (the other review coming after this) and this was awesome!

It was great don't-have-to-think-too-hard fun and kept me engaged from start to finish.

If you are a fan of Zombieland you will probably like this, style is very similar but has monsters instead of Zombies.

If you are into that then this is a highly recommend from me.

Couldn't stick it. I liked the trailer but the monsters were too kiddy for me.

Interesting, the monsters are what I loved about it - I said to the other half that I like how they haven't gone over-the-top crazy with the monsters that you see in some creature features and computer games.

I thought this movie was excellent. If it had come out while I was a kid I bet I would have watched it over and over.

I enjoyed it when I watched it last year on Apple, bought the digital copy a short time later. Due to COVID, this film had a brief limited theatrical run and correspoinding On Demand date. The creature FX did pull off an Oscar nomination (although last year competitors were few) . The film overall was a pleasant surprise.

The world building was great, the idea that not every monster is out to kill you unless provoked, rules through trail and error, an an active protagonist. The film loosely slips away near the end, but it does have a bit of payoff, so it isn't that bad...but you kinda knew a new group of characters had something shady planned.

Very entertaining overall.

A few months later, of course, that horrible Monster Hunters was unleased upon the masses, and all it really accomplished is that it made you appreciate Love and Monsters
that much more.
