Hi.

I am an Emmy-nominated art director setting up his first feature: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1365528/

I'm looking for an 8-10 minute drama to direct in January. The purpose of the short is to secure my position as director on a feature film that's currently being packaged. This means the short will be entered in festivals and will be seen by producers, agents, pro-cos, distributors, and so on.

You should watch the pitch trailer on the website for the feature film I shall be directing at http://www.seeingthefilm.com. Tonally, your script should feel relevant to this trailer.

If you do not have a suitable script but have an idea, please send me an existing 10-minute script to demonstrate your writing ability (don't tell me your idea!).

Your story should involve no more than four characters and should be set in one location, and/or a couple of cost-free locations. Think something like BEFORE WE GO meets SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK with a tragic twist.

It would help if you have won or been nominated for awards or have a manager or agent (please specify if you do).

Please submit scripts or direct any questions to me via the contact form on the feature film's website.

Thank you,
Dominic

Hey Dominic,

First, really impressed with your pitch trailer. Outstanding.

As an award winning and produced scriptwriter, the closest short I have which comes near or meets your parameters is a cautionary tale about the pursuit of physical beauty gone horribly wrong. It is entitled The Nu You, (14 pages), "A homely young woman is ready to pay any price to be taller, thinner and more attractive."

Full script and coverage is posted here: https://www.scriptrevolution.com/scripts/the-nu-you

PS Have also submitted this response to your site as requested.

Impressive looking pitch trailer. You can tell you have an art/cinematography background as that was very visual.

Not sure I have any shorts that match the tone as I couldn't grasp what the story was from the trailer, but my website is mark-renshaw.com and I have various short scripts that can be read there on the scripts page if you fancy taking a look.

If not, best of luck with the feature and whichever short you choose.

Interesting. I've got a bunch of shorts, but not a single one that matches the tone you are going for. Though, I do have two dramas that I'm confident show off my writing skills.

While I'm certain I could come up with an idea that would work for you, I don't have an existing idea at the ready.

So, sadly, I'll let others here take the lead.

Good luck with your project. Maybe we'll get to work together in the future.

Best,
Paul
