The Passion of Pontius Pilate by Kelly Logue - Play, Radio, Short, Drama - This is the story of Pontius Pilate, in his own words, the man who condemned Jesus of Galilee to die. Is he a villain? A hero? or somewhere in-between? Find out in the Passion of Pontius Pilate (radio play script). 39 pages - pdf format
Dear Kelly, I can't quite imagine how you would get this across in a radio play . . . PILATE (to himself): What is this trickery of the mind?! The swarm forms into a large blackened smile. And the mouth of this grinning visage tries to speak… FLIES: Pilate! We ask a favor from you. This ends Scene one which is rather long. It could be broken into smaller parts with different background SFX.
My only chance to listen to Radio 4 in the UK is during lunchtime. So Googling duration I was surprised to see this - BBC Radio 4 radio drama, broadcast every weekday at 2.15pm. Generally each play is 45 minutes in duration and approximately 190 new plays are broadcast each year. More or less three-quarters are self-contained dramas. I was expecting it to be 20 or 30 mins max. Therefore what you have written (with intro themes and scene change SFX) is perfectly to length. Or a page per lash -- Good Luck --
