Thanks, everyone! And congrats to everyone who submitted a script, and especially to those who took the time to read and review without having entered anything themselves.
Victor Leblanc - A long-dead 1930s ballroom dancer claws his way out of the grave and stumbles into a present-day ballroom class, desperate to finish the waltz that killed him.Â
And good job to everyone who entered! I thought the quality was pretty dang good across the board and I had a hard time coming up with clear favorites.
Surprised with top three - comments were mixed - but will take it
Totally agree!
I'm actually shocked with the scoring overall. I mean, completely shocked.
For me, this OWC had the lowest quality of scripts I've probably ever seen, yet scores did not reflect that at all.
I guess I really am confused just how peeps are scoring these things. Parameters don't seem to come into play with scoring at all. Nor does quality and obvious lack of quality.
I'm just seriously looking over final scoring and scratching my head how some of these scripts scored what they did. To me, it literally makes ZERO sense, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out there was an error in the tallying of the voting, or some peeps mistakenly scored "backwards", thinking 5 was actually 1 and so on.
For an obviously poor entry to score well above 2.0 means a good number of voters are handing out 3's at minimum, possibly a 4 or 5, even.
And for an obviously good entry to score below 3.0 means voters are handing out 2's, possibly 1's.
I would absolutely LOVE to see how various peeps voted. I'm, also wondering how many peeps voted.
Congrats, Ethan! And a big thanks to Steve and Don for putting this together.
I'll second that. The output this time was very rough. A real slog to read through.
We should try an open OWC. Not an anonymous one. I feel like it'll encourage people to be less harsh/more constructive with their feedback. It'd also encourage more back and forth on the individual threads. Any cheating would almost certainly be obvious, and we'd have to nip it quickly and loudly, but I truly believe the vast majority of people here are honest people. Think we should also put our scores at the end of our reviews from now on. Let's put everything out in the open. It's worth a shot, right?
It could really help the OWCs expand into something even greater. Just my opinion.
