Valentine by Bethany Cox - Play, Comedy - Love is in the air, and in elementary school teacher Mrs. Honeywell's second grade classroom, it stinks! For her second graders, Valentine's Day brings love, jealousy, and chaos, as Honeywell attempts to balance both unruly elementary schoolers crazed by secret crushes and her own pandemonious love life (or lack thereof). "Valentine" is a hilariously wild roller-coaster ride of a one-act play as it delves into the minds and the characters of second-grade students; some who love love, some who hate it, and some who, from time to time, convince themselves that they are farm animals! 40 pages - pdf, format 8)

Hello Bethany,

Format for an unpublished stage play is complete different from what you get in a stageplay published by Samuel French. And those published plays are not examples of what needs to be done. You might want to have a look at http://2012.scriptfrenzy.org/howtoformatastageplay
and then there's
http://playwrightscentersf.org/submissions/docs/PCSFPlayFormat2012.pdf
which is also a good example.

One other resource you might want to look into
http://www.stageplays-forum.com/

I'm not sure who your audience is here. Do you want us, as adults, to see through the eyes of the children? But then the children speak very maturely. And often very long-winded. So I'm not sure that's what you're going for.
There's a lot of tightening up that could be done. A number of monologues that could be cut quite a bit.

Good luck
