Finally!  The DVD finally arrives for american fools who don't know good horror from pop culture horror.

This is a guilty plessure movie if there ever was one.  It's a movie you're gonna love, no matter what you say on this thread.  I've actually waited almost as long for this one to hit DVD as I am for SPOOKIES and UNDEAD... of course I mean region 1 versions.

So, here we have a movie that stared the lead singer of "WHITESNAKE's" wife or girlfriend one of the two.  All you need to know is she can't act worth a piss.

She is going to law school, very attractive, very high up on the social ladder or so they want you to believe. Later you come to find out that big ol' house you see from the outside is in fact just an apartment building and they are only privy to a small section of it.  Again, this is not the important stuff.

The movie takes off at a party where -- JIM, BRANDON and LINDA are all at, in LINDA's apartment.  JIM is LINDA's man, but BRANDON was there first and foremost long ago... we get that later on though.  The two exchange some incredibly funny spots of banter, with JIM always getting the upper hand in the insults.  They then breakout a OUIJA board and the movie takes off into high gear.

Rules of the board are broken -- People die -- Ghost are excersied away -- Spooky dreams are seen -- enemies become friends -- Friend dies -- girl is possessed and then gets married.

The movie is great!  It's a little campy, but a lot fun.  the acting on JIM and the Detective's part our fantastic.  The whole Magic stint and all that smoke and mirrors stuff really makes you love the work of the detective and long for more of his on screen time.

BRANDON however, is funny.  Not cause of his dialouge, but the way he pulls it off.  I believe this to be the same guy who wore the eye patch on DAYS OF OUR LIVES for so many years... but don't bank on me alone.

This chump cried more in 1 movie than I've seen anyone cry in a life time.  It's so funny how emotional he'll get and you almost find yourself watching it just to see what he'll cry at next.  I mean he'll be talking and the next thing you know he's crying or getting all water eyed... turning on the water valves.

The ghost, when you finally get to see him, is kinda scary.  He's only in it however but a few short times.  I do think that works best though, cause the less you see the monster or killer... the more mysterious, scary and creepy he becomes.  That is why Freddy and Jason and Micheal and all them other guys aren't scary... we've seen everything short of their dicks.  That just doesn't fly with me.

So in the end -- The movie isn't to bloody, but it has it's moments.  The story is well thought out and for it's time cutting edge 80's stuff.  Several movies took from this one later on in the 90's all the way up to the RING remake later on.

I'd love to see everyone rush out and snag this one up, maybe it'll be a cry to the higher ups to let some really great horror movies be known and released here in the U.S.

THE MUTILATOR
3 ON A MEAT HOOK
SCARECROWS
SPOOKIES
UNDEAD
A CAT IN THE BRAIN
SIX FLYS ON GREY VELVIT

and so many more.

Thanks for listening ;)

P.S. You know... i've seen the movie so many times, but don't quote me on her name being LINDA in the movie.  That sucks when you can't remember a name in a movie that you praise as much as I did here  :(

Trust me though, name glitch aside... it's a really good movie.
