I went to see this a couple of weeks ago and was VERY impressed. It's been getting a lot of hype and is quite low budget, so I was inclined to not get too excited after the disaster known as Open Water. It deserves all the hype though, it's pretty disturbing and creepy with a great plot. The twists are very clever and unpredictable and everything just falls into place so well. Not only have there not been many horror/thrillers out this year, it doesn’t seem that any of them have been all that great either. I highly recommend this to anyone who’s been dying for a good horror/thriller over 2004.

Good. I saw the preview a long time ago and was like "Hey this HAS to be a kick A** movie" so i am glad to hear a good review. I will definitly see this one.

How did you see it a couple weeks ago when it doesn't come out for a couple weeks? Is the release date early where you live?

This is already playing in select cities. It wa also a sundance film if you did not know that.

I can't wait to see this one- you're incredibly lucky for getting the opurtunity.  I've watched all of the clips online and I love it (the tension is mind-numbingly painful).  In a year of lackluster thrillers (I'm sorry, but "The Grudge" looks fucking stupid), "Saw" looks like it could very well be the best.  I absolutely cannot wait.

It was at the festival earlier this year and he said a couple weeks ago, see where I was going. I will probably see this film in a day or so unless things change

This movie is not stupid. Everyone in the theatre was screaming thier heads off.

The release date here in the UK was October 1st. That's how I've already seen it. I hope you're not disappointed SyCo, I thought it was brilliant. I think I saw a link to a clip of the scene where the girl needs to get the key on some site. Have you seen that one? Because that scene is wicked! Hope you enjoy it when it comes out over there.

I just watched this film, it has one to one of the best of it's kind

It's not really horror and it looks like any other film, just a brilliant fun experience, The ending leaves you wanting more so maybe that's where the dvd comes in with extras and stuff

I just hope they don't ruin this with a sequel

Brilliant?  Hardly.  Good?  Yes.  I was really looking forward to this, and while I certainly enjoyed it, it was just not quite as good as I was hoping.  I felt that sometimes things would go too far (good) or not nearly far enough (bad).  The acting is questionable (Elwes and Glover, of course, being the best with co-scribe Leigh Whannell being absolutely horrendous) and the script is trash (too many un-funny one-liners).  But the directing is fantastic and I can foresee James Wan making a truly awesome film in the future.  As it stands, it was just good- not great, but certainly good.

And the part where the movie lives up to its title is hands down the best.

From the look of the first trailer it appeared as though this film would be down right scary, but it wasn't. It was how ever suspensefull and very different from anything else that I had seen before. The best part i thought was the ending, I never expected what happened. It was a slight disappointment but i still really liked it.

The ending is pure genius, the pinnacle of horror movie irony.
"Game Over" - classic.

The best part good or bad is that it's bringing in a lot more money than they spent which in turn gives all of us hope (If you want to direct films) That you dont need a hundred million to make a good movie.

A lot of films do overkill with more money on sequels or just more money in general.
