Hey. I notices that some of you (All of you. lol) have these little pictures of whatever under your name. How do you get those?

Ah, the joy of Avatars.

1. Click the Member Center button
2. In the menu on the left, click Avatar Settings
3. Either use one that's there, enter a URL, or upload one
4. Hit Save
5. Bask in the glory that is the internet icon that represents your persona

I think sometimes the avatar is the only thing you can enjoy about a person, I think they are for comic relief at time when the tension gets to high.

There like an online stress ball

The one thing I wished was different if they could be a little bit bigger

Wesley,

You can now use or upload an avatar of up to 75 by 75 pixels.

Don

BTW, Wesley and Hertic, I've made you bigger already.  {jeez, how creepy did that sound?}

It's a good thing I put my drink down, or I'd be cleaning my screen right now.  ;D

And senor Don, you changed your avatar!  8)

Although comic relief is a benefit from such things, it's not the complete reason why I changed the signature line in one of my e-mail accounts so that it says under each e-mail I send out "Alan did not mean to offend you."

The internet is dangerous.  It's self-defeating, especially for people who drink a lot of coffee, type fast, and ... et cetera.

That's funny but also awesome that you can make them bigger

If I want one of my own how di I get them? Is there a site I go to? Or do I just upload a picture.

Just upload a picture (in JPG or GIF format) and click SAVE. You can resize it to whatever you want by changing the dimensions, 75 is currently the biggest you can go.

I noticed the change in avatar sizes... must just be my internet explorer is hosed (yeah, yeah, i know - ie sucks), but wesley's avatar has always looked like bad television reception on my screen.  It flickers a lot and goes really slowly.  On a G5 (I love those) with a speedy connection, it moves really quickly.  I always liked it though.
