I hate about every band thrown out in this thread so far...

I do like MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE... they are really... um... something... they just... they're not fantastic artist, but they can jam. I thought them, with the exception of THE KILLERS, were the only reason to watch the VMA's this year.

I couldn't believe the great abundance of just pure shit they had on the show. From P DIDDY or whatever his fuckin' name is now giving away a 50 dollar sears and rowbucks watch to 50 no talent cent to some moronic idiot called Kayen West, who couldn't freestyle worth a piss... I mean... where is the real music? The real artist and talent?

Oh yeah, it was the KILLERS and MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE who got little to no reception. Everyone would much rather watch a fool talk into a microphone than to listen to real music.

Anyways now that my rant is over...

MATTHEW GOOD BAND
FLICKERSTICK
THE KILLERS
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
FALL OUT BOY
SOCIAL DISTORTION
THE SHINS
GRANT LEE BUFFALO
U2
PULP
THIRD EYE BLIND
OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW

are among my favorite bands...

Third Day

Chris Tomlin

Hank Williams Jr.

You think we're the only Hank Williams fans Rapture? I do enjoy all 3 hanks and so did Balt but other than him I don't believe anybody else even knows of them.

It's probably because they're country and the genre is cluttered with garbage. Hank Jr is probably one of the only guys who can make a song about a pork chop that isn't dumb.

Finally! Someone else thinks so!

Queensryche is a good one too and Rush for some Canadian prog-rock. I found out about this new guy Teddy Geiger if you're into the "I'm-too-good-for-a-band-acoustic -dreamboats" (like me).

Hank Jr. wrote about stuff that really happened to him for the most part. I don't really like Hank Jr.'s son, though. I just like Hank Jr. and a little bit of Hank Sr.

Country music today isn't really country music. I mean, they have country RAP!!!! Gosh!

By the way, Wesley, don't you live in Canada? Me and my dad are going to Toronto to see "The Lord of the Rings" play and just to say we've been there! Ha ha.

I used to listen to country in the nineties like early Shania Twain and George Strait, mostly because my mom did. But now country music makes me cringe.

I like Johnny Cash's music. That's probably the only country music I like. But he didn't describe his music as only country.

Hank III or Shelton Williams is the anti country country singer who actually curses which is rare for country music.

His first 2 albums are clean and I think they're what country music should strive to be. The guy is probably top 5 on my favorite music. The other two Hank's are still in my top 10.

I live near Toronto, been there once. Plays really don't interest me, I went to Mickey Mouse on ice when i was a lot younger and I just felt ripped off and I didn't buy the tickets.

A lot of upstart bands use myspace, it's a pretty good idea to put samples of their music in which we can download. That's what led me to buy a few cd's, also with Victory Records you get a second DVD disc with it that has like 3 hours of music videos by their artists.

I think this is great marketing, major labels can't give you as much publicity as the internet and myspace. They give you a national commercial but the internet speaks to your audience.
