I have read the script for Saw 2 and in case you all are wondering... this is the plot. Well my version of it. No one from Saw 1 are in it 2.

Seven people. Seven clues. They are trapped in a room and they keep dying. One of them has cards which says who to kill and how. The first death is by decapitation and so on. There is only one way to solve it. That is find out who is doing it. But that person that is doing it can not die or everyone else will die because he/she is their escape.

Yeah that is the plot in my words.

That sounds original and cool, I wasn't expecting the original cast to come back because to be honest unlike horror people I think the originals should never be in the sequels for these types of films.

Characters have to get on with there lives and well mindless killers don't care as much as you'd think they would.

The guy who escaped after chopping his foot off is like that girl who ripped open the other guy to get a key from his stomach and saved herself. This killer if you can get away with a new sense of life he lets you go.

I hope you're right, though

Should be good, especially since I liked the first one.

Sounds like an interesting story. I liked the first a lot more than I thought I would, so hopefully now that the writer and director have had some experience they can fix the flaws from the first and make an even better movie.

It's an interesting story, but can it be pulled off in a film?
Posted by: R.E._Freak (Guest), March 31st, 2005, 1:15am; Reply: 5
If the people involved are good enough I don't think there's anything that can't be put to film.
Posted by: Old Time Wesley, March 31st, 2005, 1:23am; Reply: 6
Its not even being done by the same people or director and writer... What.
Posted by: Antemasque, March 31st, 2005, 9:22am; Reply: 7
Different director BUT the director of the first one has a part in the film. I think he wrote it or he is producing it. I am not sure.

The new director wrote the film as well, I'm disappointed anyway. When you change directors the films never really get better, you have to keep the sameones so the films don't become crap. I guess we can only wait and see how bad they can screw up a good thing.

This still maybe a good film if it does not depend on gore like the new exorcist film. We all know how bad it was. The only thing that maybe better then the first is the acting. The acting in the first wasnt that spectacular but it was still a good film.

I don't get it, if they are trapped in a room how can they not know who is the killer? Wouldn't they see him?

I don't wanna ruin what i read its conplicated but it also works out very well and you dont see it coming.

I'll definately check this out.

I just re read the script and i left out some of the plot. Sorry lol. Here is the plot for sure lol

There are 15 people who each have a murder card. Each hour someone gets it and has to kill someone. If the murderer gets killed the person that killed him/hert is the new murderer. Does that make sense to you all?
Posted by: R.E._Freak (Guest), April 1st, 2005, 12:53pm; Reply: 14
It's Cube meets Se7en with a game of murder tag thrown in for good measure.

Great.

"Se7en" and "Cube" are kickass movies, "Cube" remains one of my favourite (the sequels are dreadful, though...)

Why or how would you get the screenplay? did you read or post this on imdb cause they have the same thing on the message board there. 15 people in a room and stuff, it's a good idea in theory but I doubt that many people will like it... I also read it's being filmed in Canada, another American film coming up here because it's cheaper and more convenient.

Do you have a link to the Saw 2 script?

I looked for it and found nothing. You might want to start a new thread in "I’m looking for" board.

SAW 1 was awful! First time I've walked out of a theatre in a long time.

I very much enjoyed the first one, it worked for me, despite the ropey performances...

I the websites for 3, 4 & 5 have been bought 'just in case...' Still, I get the feling Lion's Gate could turn into a company like 'Dimension' for running a series into the ground at that rate!

Bloody-Disgusting points out that a spin-off site for Lions Gate Films' Saw II has launched, which includes new features on the anticipated sequel. Disgusting says that "the site will be constantly changed, there will be cheat codes to access certain areas, there will be new Saw II stuff going up and coming down constantly."

Saw 2 sounds even more contrived an utterly ridiculous...just like the original. Should do well I guess.

Just a little over a month until it comes out... I have the feeling as it seems the budget has become larger the film will suffer from the sequel curse and hype.

I'm not too impressed by this new trailer. It just shows a bunch of people bickering at eachother, that worked in the last film b/c u were just as confused as they were. But for this movie.....i think saw is just going to turn into a huge franchise unfortunately. It makes since you have a bunch of people killed or put to a test and each one is unique. I'm not thrilled about that idea. But i can't help but think we'll be seeing a Saw III.

I saw a TV spot for Saw 2 and basically it looks like more Hollywood unoriginal trash.  The first Saw was an original slasher with a conservative budget taht was pretty effective.  Saw 2 looks like every other slasher with idiots running around and dying, and of course they couldn't think up a better title.  I mean give it a subtitle or something, the 2's are getting so unoriginal along with their storylines.

Oh well, just my 2 cents.  Haha get it?
Posted by: Old Time Wesley, October 23rd, 2005, 4:15pm; Reply: 36
They even got rid of the original director so what's this telling us? They don't trust james to make a second film? They wanted to make it more Hollywood? Why have they done this because I have a feeling this fact will make or break the whole thing and ruin all the hard work
Posted by: Balt (Guest), October 23rd, 2005, 4:22pm; Reply: 37
I knew as soon as I saw the tv spot where the gun is placed against the door and the guy looks out and the gun goes off... I knew right then and there I wasn't even gonna bother with this one.

That is taken directly from DARIO ARGENTO's OPERA and I think it's a shame people have to buy into this shit. I cannot believe even death's in movies are being stolen now. The Idea well has run dry. This movie will prove that.

I can just see all the idiots though. "That was so cool, man!" "Highly original!" "Never seen that done before!"

They'll tout this movie as being the most original thing since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or 100 sided dice.
Posted by: Old Time Wesley, October 23rd, 2005, 4:36pm; Reply: 38
Are you saying Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wasn't original?

My problem with the film is that they pulled the original director who probably wouldn't have let the film go all Hollywood.

They shot the original in 18 days, the average Hollywood film takes probably 5 months and this probably took that long. When you have more time to think about it that's when it takes a turn for the worst.

Maybe that gun was an epiphany by Leigh Whannell realizing he's a sell out.

No, not at all... TMNT was highly original. I believe it was one of the most original idea's around. Even more so cause each actually had a personality. A different one that made them a character on to themselves.

I'm not afraid to admit a little turtle love while grown' up. ;)

I still love those 3 films for what they are, the 4th one is coming next year but sadly it's a CGI version and not live action.

I thought the Turtles themselves look great for 1990.

Saw 2 is going to make a lot of money but that's not saying it'll be good.

I'll wait for the DVD, I think I'll buy the unrated Saw DVD that just came out as it seems to have a new commentary and some new features.

I believe SAW 2 was shot in 25 days.
Posted by: greg, October 24th, 2005, 5:09pm; Reply: 42
Saw 2 was shot in just over a month for 4 million dollars.

I predict 15 million opening weekend, about 45-50 for its cume.

UHm... Yes there is one person from the original, it's that girl who was a heroin addict and she had the thing on her head and she escaped, well she's back in the sequel as one of the ppl locked in the room. She's the one who lets everyone know whats going on!
Posted by: greg, October 24th, 2005, 10:30pm; Reply: 44
Yep...she tells everyone what's going on then dies.  Whoever sees this, let me know if I'm right which I'm pretty sure I am.

It was the same deal in Final Destination 2 and bunches of other crappy sequels.
Posted by: Balt (Guest), October 25th, 2005, 12:47am; Reply: 45
YUP! She's only there to let everyone in on the deal... that's because they don't have any original idea's backing this movie up. Since they never made a TORSO 2 -- SAW 2 had to actually steal from something else this time... Sad as it is... DARIO ARGENTO took the hit this time around. The more and more I hear and read about this movie I see ARGENTO's work all over this thing.

From the trap deaths. The gun. The bathtub. The hanging. It's all been done "and better" before by DARIO ARGENTO.

I believe he should fuckin' sue!

Have you ever thought that maybe the studio owns the rights to his films which gives them a reason to use that and if it is just like it and this guy is as good as you say he is why would he care?

No death in a film is actually original anymore.
