My high school awarded me a five-hundred dollars scholarship for my screen writing abilities. My teachers were very sly about it, I didn't have any idea until the called my name during the senior assembly, right in front of the entire student body.

How cool! Congrats

I wish they would have had a screenwriting class in my school.

How underhanded of them. Secretly giving you $500 like that. And in front of everybody. Imagine the audacity. If I were you, I would refuse it. I've give it to me. you know, out of principle.  ;)

Wow.  My scripts were too subversive, critical of rules and bluntly insulting towards specific teachers, for them to have even considered giving me such an award.  Bruce Snyder -- creator of THE LUNCHROOM -- should get an award like that from his high school.  I wonder if they even know what he's doing.

I wrote a screenplay for a major project in English and it got me the only 100% in all of the classes.  That's the closest I've ever come to cash =S
