This will be a brief intro, you'll get to know me through my posts...

Hey, I'm Pete, 28, I've been writing screenplays for my own amusement for about 5 years now. I have dozens of scripts in various stages of completion, of those only 4 are semi-complete scripts right now (feature length, I don't write shorts), but just one that is close to being ready to post here. I plan to have the first draft ready to read next month. I'll read a few scripts around here in the meantime and get to know some of you.  ;D

Welcome Pete, it's good to see more people who aren't all caught up in selling as the main point in life, it's about more than that. So, I hope you find your time here... enjoyable.

Pete, welcome to the boards. Just out of curiosity, what's your favorite genre to write in? Yes, you can have more than one. Just to give us an idea of what we're in for...

The first one is the hardest!

George - I don't have just one genre that I prefer. I lean toward horror, action and comedy, and often a combination of the three. So I've written more in those genres than anything else. I love movies of almost every genre, though.

Bert - the first one? You mean the first to complete or to post? If the former, I should be clear that the script I plan to post is not truly my first completed screenplay, just the first I think may be good enough to show people. :)

I'll talk more about it in the proper forum, but the script I'll post soon is called "Slice"  and is my first attempt at a true slasher film. It's a experiment, hopefully I'll persuade a few folks around here to read it and tell me what works and what doesn't

Yeah, I meant the first script.

The exploding Scanners head is most righteous, by the way.

Pete, I strongly recommend that you read some scripts and post detailed reviews until you load your scripts.  It'll help you get reviews from other people.  Those who place their scripts here and do nothing else often do not get reviewed.

Thanks for the tip, Phil. That is what I intended to do, though. :D I know from experience that to get feedback you have to give it, so I plan to critique as many scripts as I have time to read and review. I promise this though: I'm not going to kiss anyone's ass and rave about a script I don't like just to get reviews. I'm not harshly critical or overly judgmental, just honest and opinionated. I haven't really looked throught the new scripts yet, but I'll try to pick one and review it before week's end.

Thanks Bert, I stole that avatar from another forum.

Welcome.  The exploding head is both disturbing and funny.

No one wants unwarranted praise. If my scripts sucks, I expect you to tell me that, and then tell me why.

As for favorite genre, I watch a little of everything, tend to lean toward adventure or thriller, but always infuse too much comedy that I have to write out later because it just doesn't work. This is to say that we tend to watch a little of everything, but often find ourselves writing in our favorite genre whether we like it or not.
