SPOILERS!

Quoted From TheRingWorld.com

In early 1998, a film made for just 1.2 million dollars would become the horror sensation of the year, smashing records in Hong Kong, Singapore, and its native Japan. That film was the Ring (aka Ringu), and by 2002 it had been remade in both Korea and the United States, the film's villainess--whether known as Yamamura Sadako, Eun-Suh or Samara Morgan--fascinating and terrifying moviegoers across the globe.

This film, was what got me obsessed with  J-Horror flicks.

The basic plot is - if you watch a cursed videotape you die in seven days.

After the death of four teenagers that die at exactly the same moment - reporter Reiko Asakawa (brilliantly played by Nanako Matsushima) investigates. This leads her to the urban legend - a cursed videotape that kills you seven days after.

The plot of this film was brilliantly planned, and was made even better by the awesome acting of the characters.

This film is actually scary -  with being a cursed videotape with freaky images that kills you seven days after you watch it.

The famous final TV scene must have scared the hell out of viewers - and when I watched it I was terrified (especially when my TV started to turn on and off by itself ^_^) - you just don't know what to expect!

But - this film is based upon the novel (Ring) - but it's attempts are poor - so it basically has it's own story.

8.9/10!

This movie is terrific! It scared the crap of out me. I rang everyone I knew who I thought might ring beforehand telling them that they'd better not ring me after I was done watching the film. :o

I got so scared afterwards that I had to cover the TV and dvd player with a blanket cos it freaked me out so much. Plus, I muted a lot of the movie cos I found it to be too spooky. I find the Japanese language particularly eerie when the tension mounts more.

I have yet to see it again, as I still think it freaked me out a bit toooooooo much, but it is a top Japanese horror flick and a must see movie!

This version over the American any day! I just am too big of  awuss to watch it alone even though I've seen it already  :B

Lol, yes, It is very, very freaky, creepy, and scary.

The japanese language is kind of eerie (especially when I speak it I sound like a toad thing) - and I did get very scared when my TV decided to turn itself on and off lol

Agreed - this version over the american anyday!
