SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  A Co Writer of sorts

This is for the unofficial second season of Better Days (It's unofficial because this is the version I plan to film so people can watch online) I've planned to put a lot of money into the creation of the series and would be willing to pay the co writer (I only need 1) for each episode he/she does but the amount will vary depending on how much I like what you've written and remember since I'm doing this non profit nothing is guarenteed except for my best efforts in making it come to life.

I'll have to re-establish the characters for a new audience who will no doubt be different from the original (Hopefully the people who enjoyed it to begin with will come back and watch it rather than read it... Hell even the people who hated it can come back)

The one thing I'd love this time around is to have more references to unproduced screenplays from this site (I had Arcadio, Alan, Edward and a few others that I've forgotten of people who allowed me to use or reference their series)

I plan to start writing it now and start the actual production next summer (Probably February or March '06)

I heard someone say when you want something go for it and well I've wasted a long time of my life doing nothing so now I want to leave my mark even if it is only on the internet.

I should clarify that Co Writer was a loose term because depending on the person and what they think their strengths are I have different things they could do.

I don't want to do what a lot of people do and just take anyone and say here is what I want you to do, do it. I need a co writer who feels they can easily just pick up and write an episode and for anyone who has actually read the series it's not hard.

Click on "King Wesley", and once in his profile, you will find the link to Better Days.

I encourage him to move it back to S.S. frequently, but it's his baby to do with as he chooses.

This somewhat self-serving post has been brought to you by Better Days Episode 5.5   :)

Thanks bert.

Weley, I read the first episode, and really liked it.  I dont think I'd be much help though, it's hard to write from a 24 year old's perspective when your my age.

Anyway, I like it, will read more and send you a review soon.

Season 2 (Unofficial) is a different series at heart but is the same at the same time which sounds weird but the way I'm setting up season 2 is just perfect for someone to just jump in and help.

While at work last night I came up with the first 3 episodes (2 in concept) the pilot ha-ha as we'll call it will be titled "Friendship" and it will be what everybody wanted originally (Backstory on the big two's friendship)

What I want to do is write the episodes which will only run about 15 pages and the rest will be neutral space characters talking to us. I've thought long and hard about how easily this would work for a no budget series and think it would be perfect and even if I place the episode up here for people to read they can still enjoy them because the episodes will be much better because I've learned from my old mistakes (Dropping characters left and right, doing weird episodes that have nothing to do with the universe because I enjoy throwing curve balls if you will)

Bert if you'd like you can post 5.5 as a short script at least until i put the series back up, I just don't know if right now my timing would be too good because people seem to be awful serious and the series isn't exactly Fempiror Chronicles serious if you know what I mean.

But before I go on too long just remember Bert might be around your age I believe and he wrote a dead on episode that I could pass off as my own if I so wanted to ha-ha and if you'd just like to guest write spots or have an idea you'd like someone to use that you couldn't you'll get credit for it.

I'm open for almost anything you guys can offer in the way of help, not that I don't have ideas or lack the ability to write an unofficial season 2 but I just don't want to take all of the credit for myself at the end of the day (Selfless acts make me excited to try new things and hopefully help others in the process)

No...*sighs*...that's OK.  I think it's best that things remain intact, and as you think they should be.

But I am not buying your "serious" argument for a second.

"The Spoofs", anyone?

The lack of reads or good reviews anyone? ha-ha I'm not saying I didn't put a serious effort forward in writing the series it's just that some people expect something different than what you're offering even after you've clearly stated it's about nothing and yet it is about something or else it wouldn't exist.

I can't argue with you Bert, it's all just me being over-protective.

I just cannot sit by idly while god knows who reads my work anytime they feel like and they post a review... It's like christmas everyday and I can't live with the anxiety that causes.

At least on my website it's controlled and I know only a few people ever visit and even fewer send me e mails of their thoughts.
