On October 27th at the local university is something called Southern Media Showcase. It's put on by the broadcast department, and it was sort of a award festival for journalism, written and broadcast (for T.V.), but this year they added more creative categories for entries. The video competition categories are: Music Video, Comedy/Drama, Graphics & Animation, Newscast, News Format, Long Format (programs running more than 20 min) and Instructional/Informational.

I entered a short film, which is really a scene of a film called Double Indemnity. I'm certainly more proud of this one than I am about the first movie I made. I'm not sure if I'm going to win or not. The other kids in my production class made a really comedic slasher film while mine is really dramatic and sort of depressing. And there's never been a short film category before in the Showcase, so who knows?

Cross your fingers for me. I got a little while to wait.

Sounds pretty cool and I wish you good luck.  Is there anway to post the film online so everyone can see it?

I saved it to a .dv file for Quicktime but it's HUGE! 900MB to 1GB I think. But I'm going to try and cut it up into a few parts and save them separately.
