Toy Story 3 for Summer of 2008! :) Yes! I've been waiting for this for years! No voices have signed on yet but Tom Hanks has talked about it! It will be Directed by Bradley Raymond. Here's the plot for #3: The story follows Buzz Lightyear as he is recalled to Taiwan after a series of malfunctions. Learning of a productwide recall, all the toys in Andy's room, under Woody's leadership, head to Taiwan to save Buzz from doom. The plot doesn't sound that great but oh it will be! ::) but seriously, is Disney completely out of ideas?!

Um, there is really not alot of options for stories when your dealing with toys as your characters. i mean you would like a romantic comedy with Woody and Bo peep?

here is a idea. Buzz lightyear runs for president in 2008, but an assassination attempt gone wrong leads people to suspect an inside job from within the canidates own party. all signs seem to point to Woody (he did try to kill buzz in TS 1) woody must then try to clear his own name before time runs out.

IMO there does not seem to be a lot of options for these characters, but maybe it's just me.

That stinks...maybe the original director will come up with an awesome story and make it himself.

Bummer...

That made me happy to know. I'm not being sarcastic.
ESPECIALLY since Pixar now has the story. They take time to develop there stories and I believe branching off from Disney is a smart venture. Only good things can come from this fellas.

Toy Story 3 is in Production

Chief Executive Robert Iger from Disney recently gave also an update on Toy Story 3.

Iger revealed that Walt Disney Pictures has started production on Toy Story 3, but no release date has been set for the third installment. The studio may also do other sequels of Pixar films.

If only I was 10 years younger and didn't have any hair... I won't go there.

Anyway I haven't cared about this since Toy Story 1 but hey it's good to see they still support kids franchises with pointless sequels. Gotta play with the big boys.

Didn't they say everything they needed to say with the first one??? Do they really need to spawn more sequels off of Toy Story???

Toy Story 2 was a near-perfect film.  The third one will be good, but it's doubtful that it will top the second.

New trailer is up:

I think it looks horrible.  The dialogue from college-aged Andy that's used at the back-end is soooo cheesy.

I watched the trailer (on youtube, I asume it's the same one as in the link above, but they probably have a few) and am very excited.

I think it looks really good.

Anyone know any release dates?

And why it was delayed? (The links above don't work)

I wasn't looking forward to this until I watched that new trailer and now I'm excited! It looks great. I didn't think Andy's dialog was cheesy.

Finally , this thread starts in 2006! I hope this will be good. A strange thing about the third movie of many animation is that usually its awful. See Shrek 3 and Ice age 3. On the other hand the second movie is allways the best.
