SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  Searching for a script to be made into a short
Posted by: DF, January 25th, 2006, 3:49am
Greetings, I've just discovered this community and have been impressed with all the work I see.

I am looking for a script that fits certain criteria which I would produce and direct into a short film. Budget is still up in the air, but think "low". Payment for the script may or may not be possible. I intend on submitting the film to festivals.

I have access to many resources, thus, I would love a script to be tailored around those resources. I leave it up to the individual authors to decide what story and genre they wish to tell. I'll only list my prefrences and what I have to work with:

Preferences:
  • Genre: Comedy, Thriller, or Drama that primarily takes place on a farm.
  • Length between 15-30 mins.
  • Won't require 3D special effects
Location Resources:
  • Farm (1000+ acres), barns, silos, equipment, horses, cattle, misc animals.
  • Restaurant
  • Golf Course
  • Woodlands (w/ creeks, streams, etc)
  • Couple of Lakes/Ponds
  • Lots of Vehicles and Equipment
  • Various other residential and commercial locations
If there is any interest, feel free to contact me at:  dfazzio@gmail.com

Thanks.

Hi DF,

Do you have any actor constraints, number of characters, ages, ethnicity, etc.? I assume you need a small character list but are there certain qualifications about their descriptions?

Tell us a little bit about yourself, DF.  Have you worked on any projects in the past that we might have heard of?

Also, what kind of farm is this and what season would you like the story take place in?

Hi,

I've been involved with many independent features, but have yet to direct. My resume: http://www.dfazzio.com

I would be aiming to shoot in Spring or Summer. The farm is not too large (1000 acres). Lots of open land for horses and cattle. A couple photos of the horse barn and grazing areas: http://www.dfazzio.com/stables.jpg and http://www.dfazzio.com/farm.jpg . As you can see, it is a very nasty, cloudy, day, and it's winter, so it doesn't look very appealing right now =p

Actor constraints: No constraints currently other then to keep a small cast of characters. It also depends on the story to be told, being on a farm, if the story requires actors to act alongside or with animals, there may be special constraints and/or stunt doubles required.

Thanks for your interest!
