Sometimes when I log on to Simply Scripts, I notice advertisements offering money making opportunities for writers. I'm always a bit dubious when I see these types of ads on the net, so I was wondering if anyone has taken up any of these offers and made a buck from them?

I'm very cynical actually and avoid those too. However, if anyone can shed any positive light on them, I'd be interested to hear more...

So it seems no one has made a buck from any of these sites. I'm not suprised.

I feel really dumb, but I've clicked on one of those, and it isn't all that it seems.

Never is it about writing. Always about natural male enhancement and Durex... Like anyone needs these internet adds to buy this crap.

No, no one should click on these. I'm sure sometimes they are far worse.

Perhaps we could expand on this topic a little. If you wrote a killer script and a production company wanted to pay you for it, how much would you want?
Is there an industry standard or is does just get made up as you go along?

Depends on the production company. It's usually either a percentage of the budget or a nominal fee in relation to the production values.

For novice writers, you can't expect a large amount, gotta earn it first.

I use percentage of the budget...

I usually do 3%
