I've noticed a few threads around here have up and vanished without a trace. Where do they go and why? If they're going in a negative direction, why aren't they just locked? Just curious. I just thought it was a little weird.

My A List thread, a thread about actors, and two or three others I can't think of off the top of my head. I think both threads ended with somewhat potentially provocative posts so if that's why they disappeared, I can understand. But still, it's weird that they're there one minute and the next, well, vanished. Again, why not just lock them?

I've noticed posts get deleted a lot. The purpose of this... I don't know... My guess could be space for more threads? No one knows why they would go, but I doubt we should question Don on his ways.

The A-List thread?  Probably because it wasn't going to lead to anywhere good.

Who knows?

That's a good point. Don keeps the boards in pretty good shape and I'm sure he has his reasons for deleting the threads (if indeed, that's what happens to them). I was just curious.

As for the A List thread, it was a genuine request for a script, despite the history of the series. Nevertheless, I'll take its deletion as a hint to be more careful about what I post in the future. It's not my intention to start trouble, especially as of late.

James,

You are not starting any trouble.  I can not recall the exact reason I deleted the thread.  However, the script "The A-List" was removed from the site some time ago at the request of the script writer.

As just about anyone will tell you, I am not always entirely consistent between locking threads and deleting them.  Some general guidelines as to why I lock or delete a thread or posting:

1) IT IS IN ALL CAPS
2) Totally off topic
3) < 3 word reply like, "Cool!"
4) Spiraling out of control (I think this was the case for yours)
5) People are being mean.
6) Something is weird about this post/thread and I need to go to sleep so I lock/delete it to be on the safe side.

Please note, I wouldn't take having a thread deleted personally.  I never get mad at people on the boards.  I get bewildered a lot, tho.

Thanks also go to Wesley, R.E., lesleyjl21, the goose, henrik, AmericanSyCo, Raiden, dick--nixon, topher, Rob S., Andrew Romance for the work they do in their individual sections or, in Wesley's case, when I go on vacation and he is god king of the discussion board.
