Halloween: Past Tense by Matt Thompson - Horror - Michael Myers is dead and buried... or so everyone thinks.  While the town of Haddonfield desperately tries to forget its bloody history, an ambitious journalist returns to her hometown to prove two things: that the legendary Laurie Strode is alive, and Michael Myers' reign of terror is far from over. 128 pages - pdf, format 8)

This was really good until you killed Laurie, and still have Michael alive, just kill him already.

This might end up coming down soon.  Justin (the other writer) and I are putting our heads together for a pretty major rewrite due to... a new friend :)  So, in the interest of "keeping plot twists," it might be removed.  However, I'll give it a couple days.  Feedback from anybody who reads it between now and then would be very appreciated.

Now, it's hardly a perfect draft.  It's too long (127 pgs.), there are too many characters, and I think it's entirely too worked up in the series' mythology, etc..  These are points that'll be rectified.  If anybody has any other major concerns, be sure to lemme know.  All criticism is good criticism.

This is a really good script, one of the best Halloween 9 ones I've read. There are a few problems I have with it though:
To me, script was predictable, and it turned it into a Jason movie. One thing I always liked about the Halloween series is they stayed away from the whole zombie thing.
We don't really need all of the direct quotations from the other movies though, its a little too obvious.
The whole reporter trying to get the scoop part reminded me a little too much of Gale Weathers and Scream.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the script. It was well written, the characters were perfect. Keep it up and get that rewrite up so we all can read it.
