This film was in the oh-so-hard-to-describe place between stupid and great. Just okay doesnt really say it either. It wasn't epic but it wasnt completely bad either.

Tamara is about a girl named Tamara *go figure*. Tamara is hated by the kids at her school for writing an article about how all the atheletes are on steroids. She is teased for reading books like A Journey Into Witchcraft. Feeling alone and vulnerable, she tries to kiss her teacher, Mr. Natoli. The teacher declines *gently te;lling her its okay* so she goes home to her alchoholic father. When in her room she gets out the spell book that is her mothers. She casts a love spell on Mr. Natoli, that would make her into a completely different person. But in order for that spell to work her blood has to be shed. She is too afraid to cut herself so the spell isn't cast. When the popular kids play a prank on her that turns deadly, they decide bury her and walk away. But since her blood was shed, the spell was set into motion. She walks into school the following monday, she is no longer a dork but a sexy new person with attitude and style. The events that follow are her getting revenge and attempting to get Mr. Natoli.

I liked this because at first I felt bad for Tamara and kind of identiyfed with her. After she changes she is this totaly different person. She is bad, can controll people and knows their darkes, inner most secrets, playing on that to hurt them.

This film was smart and well acted.

I would give it a

***1/2 out of *****
