Seems like I'm out of the loop on this one... I'm interested though.

Since when is Mike a moderator? Seems like everyone's getting that accolade of late. Maybe if I stopped posting while drunk I'd stand a chance of joining the mod squad.

That's the spirit.  You gotta take it one day at a time.

I've been on the mod squad for about a week now.

Ghost,

I'm exchanging some pms with "them" in the hopes of finding out what exactly is going on, or to at least get them to introduce themselves, and explain their logic for the challenges.

Me too, Mike. I'm having a little friendly banter with them LOL! They seem like small potatoes to me, but I'd advise anyone else to steer away from them. They haven't even made a single post on the site yet.

Well, thank you for that.

Please enlighten us with a little info about yourself and your "writing crew".

Yeah come on, COMPUTER TOUGH GUY, as you would say LOL!

I'd recommend nobody bother with this, since it reeks of somebody trying to get their hands on a bunch of shorts for nothing.

1.     A two man writing team from the Empire State (NYC).
2.     A wake up call to all you so called screenwriters

That’s all for now can’t tell you everything that defeats the purpose. If you play basketball you welcome a one on one. I write screenplays so I welcome all callouts big or small.

All challenges are welcome....

Hmm...just got here.  Not sure I like where this thread is heading.

"So-called screenwriters" he says....

I'll be watching this one with my finger on the "delete" button.

Yeah Bert, I'm right alongside you on this one.

I started it with the hope of getting some info regarding the motivation for the challenges, but it appears that we won't be getting it, because it will ruin the, uh, "purpose".

So, is this supposed to be some kind of screenwriting grudge match challenge, or a rap battle for writers?

This seems pretty strange!

No… it’s someone tired of talking about writing and who is actually writing something. In the old Writers Digest mag there was a section devoted to monthly writing prompt the only paid off was the reward of completing a random topic.

We already have something like this in place, which is an exercise where participating writers have one week to write a max 15 page script of a certain genre and theme.  This is done about every three months, with the last one being a comedy script with the theme "Why is everyone always shooting at me?".  Please feel free to show us your stuff by participating in the next one.

Check out the unproduced scripts section, where you'll find numerous scripts by writers who have been blessed with the multi-tasking talent of not only talking about writing, but actually doing it.

That happen every two- i mean 3 nah, four months. Writing is  a muscle that must be workout. Maybe you're right.... I'm going to bench press once every two weeks and i'll add 20 lbs of mass in no time. Come on, you can't be serious.

I think we should ignore this dude. He seems to be some type of writer-wanna-be.

I can only assume that you're under the impression that contest entries are the only thing we write.  Well, you're wrong.

Now please give us an explanation as to why you feel the need to challenge everyone, and not just that you're the patron saint of screenwriters, here to give us a shot in the arm and some motivation.  What is it exactly that you can't reveal?

I'll assume you have a general understanding of the board since you've been signed up since last December.  This thread is really starting to go into the side of pointlessness, so either give me a reason to keep it open or I'm locking it.

Okay, Mickey… My text was only for those willing to take part in a friendly writing competition. No one pulling your arm to be part of it. If you have no interest play me no mind. By the way you did sell how many scripts???????

Two feature lengths, and I'm in negotiations for two more.

Since I didn't get this pm I am going to say Phils is the only one with any credibility. Phil does it every few months for good reason, most people are working on stuff they created and are busy.
