I am a director (former writer with a BIG BLOCK) looking for a property to make into a DV project, you ( the scribe) will retain all rights to your work, full lenth feature property sought. 28+ years in the business Working with a relative small budget, but have the resources to make this a viable contender with full production services available .So if you are interested in seeing your work become a reality, please e mail me This is NOT a solicitation for a school, classes, siminars or anything else of that ilk, This is a film maker in love with making movies and has lost his MOJO for the written word but not for the story telling or film making process.

Can you tell us about what you've done in the past, Dayle?  What have you directed in the past?  What are you looking for now?  What resources do you have?

You fact that you want people to e-mail you directly makes me think that you won't be visiting these boards very often.

My reasoning for having interested parties contact me directly was more a matter of convenience for me than any other reason, my resume is posted on my site http://www.stuartfilms.com , as I understand that people may question my motives and to answer a more direct questions I may visit the site once a day, as I am new to this forum if the preferred method is a public post I have no objections to that. My resources are that of I am the owner of a Arriflex kit with lights and a small ¼ ton grip package. I also share a warehouse / studio that I use for production and local arts grants for expenditures. I am in no way wanting to represent my self as Steven Spielberg looking for the next great project, just a film maker looking for something to do other than corporate and birthday parties and weddings. I am finishing a Childrens project now but looking to do a little something with meat on it.

Hi Dayle,

Do you reside in Eugene, Oregon?  I live in Beaverton.

Is your project to be funded by grants? If so, are there any restrictions with regards to material or location (grant restrictions)?

Are there any other budgetary restrictions? Are you looking for straight drama, contained with only a few characters?

I asked this, Dayle, because posts like yours are fairly common.  Many times, it's from a teenager with a single camera and a bunch of friends.

I actually live in Seattle now, the project will be funded by grants I have not been given any restrictions with the exception of porn, so I am open to a little of everything. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible, I prefer not to have to build a death star or recreate 18th century England.

You can always flip through the discussion boards.  The scripts are listed with brief synopses of each of them.

I thought about doing that Phil but most writers are looking to take there story as far as possible, Most are not interested in festival fodder or small budget productions, have you had any luck with your request ?

I have no problem with the youngins trying to break in.  I just like to know who I'm dealing with and how much experience they have before sending them a script.

Speaking of which, The Burnout is a feature length script that I've won awards and recognition with.  Maybe you want to take a look at it.

That's funny.

Here is a thread we set up not too long ago -- for other purposes, but it also seems appropriate here -- where the members themselves list their favorite scripts on the site:

http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-knowyou/m-1141227828/

Most of what you will find there is at least decent -- and some of it quite good -- and pretty much every genre is represented.

Why not poke through that and see if anything strikes your fancy?

If you don't mind, Bert, I'd rather he just look at my work.   ;)
