SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Questions or Comments  /  Forgotten Password?
Posted by: Jonathan Terry, August 1st, 2006, 1:56pm
This is mainly to Don...or anyone else who knows what in the world could be going on.

For the past three days I've logged onto Simply Scripts only to be told that my password is wrong.  This doesn't happen everytime I get on, seeing as how I log on and off from the board numerous times during the day, but it happens atleast once a day.

I have my password and Screen name saved so that all I have to do is hit "login" each time I get on this board, so its not like I'm using the wrong password.

This is getting very frustrating because I have to go get my password reset constantly, which takes several minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
T.I.N.

Jonathan,

You have the wrong password set on your browser.  This is not a function of the discussion board.

If I have the wrong password set on my browser then how is it signing me in 9/10 times that I try?

Remember, I don't touch the password or SN sections.  I just hit "login" each time and it works everytime but the once it screws.

How would my password get changed to the wrong one?

Thanks.

Actually I've had similar problems too. If I log on from anywhere else on the discussion board apart from the main page of the DB my password is always 'wrong'. I'm not sure why but the only time I can actually log on is if I do it from the quick login at the top of the main DB page.

It's not really a problem because I immediately login from there now but I was kind of wondering why my password never works anywhere else apart from the quick login...

Hmm... I tried to change my password the other day. And I couldn't because I kept typing the old password wrong. I thought the vodka in my brain was to blame, but now I'm in doubt.

If you are having password problems like this it means you are about to be banned.

Just so you know....

I use the browser saving password function at work with my myriad of passwords that I have (changed every 2-3 months). These saved passwords are URL dependant. This means that the password saved at http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl? will be different from the password saved at the login URL. The cure for this is to type the correct password before logging in because the system will (should) prompt you to save the changed password. If it doesn't work from one address but it does from the other, this means you have two passwords saved (one at each location).
