SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Questions or Comments  /  Rule 1d

When I first joined here, I obviously read the rules, and one of them confused me.

1d) We reserve the right to kick anyone off the board for no apparent reason.

What does that mean? It sounds like Don's allowed to kick people off if he feels like it, whether they break the rules or not.

What does it actually mean?

It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes.

It means that there are no concrete rules regarding what it takes to get you thrown off these boards.  He wouldn't want to throw someone off the boards, only to have them say, "But I didn't break any rules."

Obviously, Don's enforcement of this particular clause is woefully lax....

Someone can be trowed off the boards for nothing when Don, for example, goes to sleep and hears something like this "Sorry, dear, I'm with a huge headache!"

It means that I can kick people off for no reason at all.  This is a catchall to encompass chronic bad writers, who can't spell, punctuate or use excessive smilies; chronic complainers who fill up my inbox with several inane emails daily complaining about all manner of things I have no control over; and chronic bedwetters.

And also those that don't attend 5 AM worship every morning.  Either take the boot or drink the red Kool-Aid.  It's your choice.

All praise be to Lord Don.

Haha.  That's classic Mike.  I think I see a bulletproof vest floating.
