I learned today that Gerard Brach the famous French screenwriter with 57 screenplays to his credit died on September 9th 2006 from cancer.

Gerard Brach was responsible for some of the greatest screenplays ever written in my opinon. He was capable of writing original and adapted screenplays of which he wrote for the following notable film directors:

Roman Polanski
Bitter Moon (1992) [adaption]
Frantic (1988) (original screenplay)
Pirates (1986) (original screenplay)
Tess (1979) [adaption]
The Tenant (1976) [adaption]
What? (1972) (original screenplay)
The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) (story and screenplay)
Cul-de-sac (1966) (original screenplay)
Repulsion (1965) (original screenplay)

Jean-Jacques Annaud
The Bear (1988) (original screenplay)
The Name of the Rose (1986) [adaption]
Quest for Fire (1984) [based on previous published material]

Claude Berri
Manon des sources (1986) [adaption]
Jean de Florette (1986) [adaption]

Truely a prolific talent.. Made into classic films too..

You can learn a lot from watching these movies..

What a loss...
