I actually have this book and it is helpful. Easy to use and they give good examples of things and go into details about each plot type.

If you want to go into more detail, then there are the 36 Dramatic Situations by George Polti. It is so detailed it hurts the brain!

Also - for a good reference in parallel to these concepts, then there is the Writer's Journey by Christopher Vogler (based on upon psychology of Joseph Campbell and to a lesser degree, Carl G. Jung).

The list goes on and on.I do have other normal reading stuff but not close at hand to my computer desk. I buy everything self help. Go through it. COpy down some things I think is helpful and put it in a file on my computer etc.

I subscribe to Writers digest. Any ideas on a good screenwriting magazine I can subscribe to that gives helpful hints etc?
