The Siren's Song

Over the horizon the eagles sing
To the west sits a lonely sea
Below the sunset rests a castle with a King
A happy king, a king who is me.

Mystery to the east, sadness to the north
But here in this castle there is peace
A king I have become from the drifter who set forth
My only hope is for more than a mere lease.

I return to the world from whence I came
The emptiness surrounds me
Nothing has changed, it's all the same
To the west I lay, floating above my lonely sea.
I am not a king, I am just me.

Winter Comes
To my castle I am destined to return
And now I sit upon my throne of gold
The deep wounds of a black burn
Begin to heal as I remember what I was told.

You are my castle, you are my throne
You are my sea to the west, you are the eagle's song
When your thoughts are with me I am never alone
When I think of you I can never be wrong.

My castle may not be real, my throne may be made of tar
But in my mind you make them real, for I have seen.
You are the one who built my castle, I know you are
You are my spirit, you are my soul, you are my Queen.

Greg, this is very sweet. Is this inspired by a real life muse? If so, she’s very lucky. I didn’t realize you had such a charming romantic side. Very sweet. :)

Thanks, Breanne.

I did write it with someone in mind, but  I'll probably never know if she saw herself.  Stuff happens, ya know?  Nevertheless, I still think it's neat.

Thanks again!
