SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Things you are looking for  /  Indie Director Seeking Low Budget Scripts
Posted by: tcampbell, January 19th, 2007, 1:45pm
I am an independent filmmaker with ten years of industry experience. I have spent much of my career as a 1st AD. I am set to make my directorial debut this summer on a very low budget indie. But in addition to writing my own material, I am also seeking screenplays from other writers as possible future projects for myself to direct. There is no money at this time. I am looking to develope projects with talented but unproduced writers. If a script is developed into a professional screenplay, I would then approach producers with access to financing.

I am looking for scripts in the noir/thriller/crime/horror genres that can be produced for less than a half million dollars.

Either post a title, genre and logline in this thread or a link to your script on this site. You can also post an email address in this thread requesting more info about me and my professional background.

Newton's Cradle- When a supernatural killer breaks into a military facility and top secret files are stolen. The government goes after the only man documented to have this ability, Troy Kneddic. Troy, now on the run, goes through a whirl wind of lies and deception. He must even question his own sanity if he is to over come this obstacle to find the truth. But the truth is just the beginning.

Could we have some more information - i.e a resume of films you've been involved in and possibly some contact information? You don't even give your name so that's already a red flag.

Not to deter you if you are sincere but you have to understand that there are request for scripts on a weekly basis.

Take a look at Open Your Mind. It's a noir(ish) sci-fi thriller that could be produced on a low budget.

The link's in my signature.

Both of these scripts are (Noir/Crime) companion pieces, but they can stand alone.

Loud and Nasty - Notorious gangster, Tucker Price, protects his dim wit brother, deals with his cheating girl friend and fends off a stranger looking for revenge.

Down and Dirty - An aging criminal and his buddy search for the man who murdered their friend.

If you're still looking, I have A Druid's Guide to the Northeast which can be done on a relatively low budget.

I have a low-budget thriller called 'The False Road'.  It's had interest in the past from a couple independant filmmakers but nothing so far has come of it.  My new version is up now if you'd like to take a look.

Mike,

I had read it a while back. Thought it was well written but didn't take to it from a directing stand point. I'll give the new draft a read.

Thanks,

Ted

Hi Ted,

I have a script called Zen/Fury in the Action section that falls into the crime genre if you're interested in checking it out.

Honestly, it's a little rough at this point since I write more in Comedy, but I think the base is pretty much there, and I'm open to developing it a little further if desired.

Directors Cut, Short- A group of young filmmakers shooting a low budget horror film are targeted by a vicious killer.

I wrote this with a very small budget in mind. Give it a look if you want. ;D

Way late, but...

Wrath of God -- (religio-horror):  A psychiatrist struggles with his own beliefs as he hears the confession of a man who claims God made him kill his own family, unaware that God may have similar plans in store for him.

Just click the link in my sig.

Hey Ted,

You still active on this thread? Still looking?  In my sig you'll find the link to The Fickle Pickle, a noir/thriller.  Try not to let the title dissuade you from checking it out.  We've been chided for it time and time again.  We know it needs changing.  It'll happen soon.
